When Finn and Princess Bubblegum disappear from a slumber party, panic erupts among the remaining guests.
  • Character Development: Princess Bubblegum has become more chill about running the Candy Kingdom; relaxing more, allowing people to make mistakes, and minding her own business more often after getting a The Reason You Suck speech from Flame Princess last episode.
    • Finn has matured enough to not try hiding things from PB when its likely to pull her away. Instead of hiding a video of the candy people rioting, he only notes "you're not gonna like it.." before showing her. He's also clearly moved past the Precocious Crush he once had on PB and is entirely comfortably simply hanging out with her as a friend.
  • Comically Missing the Point: The candy people blow the closet open, but when they see it's empty they assume Princess Bubblegum and Finn were blown to smithereens.
  • Continuity Nod:
    • Once again, Finn tells Tree Trunks to get her hot buns in the castle, but this time her husband, Mr. Pig, slaps him silly for the Double Entendre.
    • Finn brings up his dad while talking with Princess Bubblegum.
  • Cosy Catastrophe: While the candy people go into anarchy thinking that their princess is dead, Jake is calm like a bomb because he knows that she's fine.
  • Cuteness Proximity: When referring to Timmy, Peebs speaks in a very high, squeeish voice.
  • Does Not Know His Own Strength: Mr. Cupcake attempts to open doors leaves the knobs crushed under the might of his muscles. This leads the rest of the Candy People to believe that if he just breaks down the closet door, he'll kill Finn and PB.
  • Manchild: Discussed; Finn wanted his father to be more fatherly, but now sees him as a kid stuck in a man's body.
  • Mega Neko: Princess Bubblegum has Timmy, a house cat that is big enough to ride.
  • Pass the Popcorn: While the Candy People panic, Jake just sits back with a bowl of nachos and watches the chaos unfold.
  • Phony Psychic: Chocoberry claims that she can communicate with ghosts and that the ghosts of Finn and PB are talking to her.
  • Platonic Life-Partners: Finn appears to not be romantically interested in Princess Bubblegum anymore; opting to simply be close friends with her instead.
  • Secret Underground Passage: Princess Bubblegum has one in her closet. She and Finn use it to escape the closet and spend some time with each other.
  • Shout-Out: The title card is an homage to the painting Liberty Leading the People.
  • Ten Minutes in the Closet: Finn and Princess Bubblegum have to do after losing at musical chairs. The Candy people think they're kissing in the closet, but they actually escaped to have some fun together.
  • There's No Kill like Overkill: Fearing that Finn and Princess Bubblegum are trapped in the closet, the candy people use a cannon to break the door down. It should be noted that this is after they refused to let Mr. Cupcake break open the door because they thought he would accidentally kill the two, but they think a giant sweater will help muffle the impact.
  • Troll: Jake knows perfectly well that PB is fine, but doesn't tell the Candy People and in fact eggs them on as they devolve into sectarian violence.
