When Finn's toothache gets too much to take, he has no choice but to go Dentist.

Tropes:

  • Absurdly Sharp Blade: The Finn Sword cuts through the giant worms like they were nothing.
  • Bash Brothers: Finn and Tiffany have surprisingly good fighting chemistry. Jake would be jealous.
  • Brick Joke: Finn imagines a "spy fly" being a fly wearing a little fedora and Conspicuous Trenchcoat. Near the end of the episode, a spy fly goes by that looks exactly like Finn imagined it.
  • Bug War: A literal one between the army ants and the giant worms employed by fly spies. The ants offer to fix Finn's teeth if he will fight for them.
  • Call-Back: Tiffany still resents Finn for the events of "My Two Favorite People"
  • Chair Reveal: Parodied; General Tarsal insists on dramatically turning around in her swivel chair to greet Finn, even though she wasn't in her office when Finn came in.
  • Continuity Nod: Tiffany lost most of his teeth because he ate the Baker's Shard from "One Last Job". He also plans on making Jake into a thief once more.
  • The Dentist Episode: Played With. The episode starts with Finn being afraid to "go Dentist" to fix his toothache. As it turns out, going Dentist means "joining the ants in their war against worms in exchange for dental work", and though Finn gets his teeth fixed in the end, most of the episode is about his Teeth-Clenched Teamwork with Tiffany.
  • Enemy Mine: Finn's partner in the bug war is Tiffany, a sworn enemy and rival for Jake's friendship. While Finn has mellowed out and is willing to let bygones be bygones, Tiffany wants Finn dead.
  • Everybody Knew Already: All of Finn's friends knew that "going dentist" meant working for ants in exchange for dental work. They keep it a secret in case spy flies are listening in.
  • Good Old Fisticuffs: While Finn uses a sword, Tiffany fights the worms with his own two fists and manages to keep up with him.
  • Ice-Cream Koan: Tiffany tries to threaten Finn with cryptic nonsense, but Finn just gets confused.
  • I'll Kill You!: Tiffany sure doesn't waste time expressing his desire to kill Finn when they meet.
  • Jabba Table Manners: With most of his teeth gone, Tiffany is a sloppy eater.
  • Kaiju: Tiffany wants to make Jake into the biggest thief ever. So big, that Jake would just steal entire bank buildings.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: After Tiffany refuses to save Finn from falling into the head worm's mouth, the head worm chokes on Finn, spits him out, and Finn ends up knocking Tiffany off the foothold into the worm.
  • Murder the Hypotenuse: Platonic version: Tiffany tries to kill Finn in order to replace him as Jake's best friend.
  • Never Found the Body: General Tarsal reports that the head worm apparently choked to death on Tiffany, but Tiffany couldn't be found.
  • Pregnant Badass: General Tarsal is the queen of the army ants and is also heavily pregnant.
  • Talking Sword: The Finn Sword contains the consciousness of the alternate Finn it was made from and can talk to Finn.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Tiffany may hate Finn's guts, but they kick a lot of worm butt together.
  • The Tooth Hurts:
    • Finn goes dentist to fix his rotten tooth. Tiffany lost most of his teeth when he ate the Baker's Shard.
    • During the worm battle, Finn is launched headfirst into a stalactite and shatters all of his teeth. Good thing the army ants are incredible dentists.
  • Too Spicy for Yog-Sothoth: Finn falls into the head worm's mouth, but she chokes on him and spits him out. Then Tiffany gets swallowed up and the head worm chokes to death.
  • Unfriendly Fire: Tiffany tries to kill Finn this way, but Finn caught him in the act.
  • Vegetarian Carnivore: The army ants eat fruit and sugar, despite real army ants being carnivorous.
  • Visual Pun: The army ants literally act like a military base.
