Jake is held hostage by a balding witch, who demands that Finn bring her a lock of princess hair to use as a wig.

- Ass Shove: The Tree Witch threatens to entrap Jake in her "bottomless bottom" if Finn doesn't give her what she wants.
- Beauty Equals Goodness: Jake is convinced that the Tree Witch is evil because of how ugly she is. He ends up being right.
- Beyond Redemption: Double subverted and played for laughs with the Tree Witch. Finn's "The Reason You Suck" Speech to her establishes that princess hair can't make her prettier because her ugliness goes beyond physical looks. However, he starts to feel bad for her when she admits to having self-esteem issues and gives her his hair instead. Then she declares her intent to use said hair for evil, at which point Finn and Jake lose all sympathy for her, even laughing when she trips and hurts herself.
- Card-Carrying Villain: The Tree Witch. "Now, to use my hair for evil".
- Compressed Hair: The episode finally reveals that Finn has a mane of uncut blond hair bigger than he is hidden beneath his hat.
- Dem Bones: Princess Beautiful turns out to be an undead skeleton.
- Grave Robbing: Finn is reduced to digging up Princess Beautiful's grave in the hope of finding some surviving hair.
- Jerk with a Heart of Jerk: While sympathetic, the bald witch is just a jerk. After being given Finn's hair and seemingly trying to better herself, she declares that she will use her hair for evil.
- The Lady's Favour: All the princesses believe that Finn wants their hair as a love token, and that he's in love with them.
- Laser-Guided Karma: Right after declaring her intent to use her new hair for evil, the Tree Witch trips on said hair and injures herself. Finn and Jake laugh.
- Plant Person: The Tree Witch is one.
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Finn gets tired of the Tree Witch ordering him around, and tells her that her problem is that she's ugly inside and out.
