"We will not fight them at all. We would rather die than to kill others."
Tee Watt Kaa, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, "Jedi Crash"

Gohan: P-Please! I take back what I said about my hidden power! I don't wanna fight you! This is my Dad's fight, not mine! So I'm begging you: just rein them in! Give my dad a Senzu Bean and—
Cell: And there it is.
Gohan: Huh?
Cell: That right there... that is why I despise you. You know what they all have in common? The Saiyans might be fools, the humans might be weak, and the Namekian might not belong... but they're still out there fighting. Not just for their lives, but for this dung hill of a world. But none of them, boy—not a one—shares that trait with you so vile, it drives me to retch! You, Gohan... are a coward.
Gohan: No... I'm just a pacifist!
Cell: So a coward patting himself on the back. Congratulations, pint-size, you can stand proud next to the bodies.

"Cell was right. You think you're better than everyone else, but there you stand: the good man doing nothing. And while evil triumphs, and your rigid pacifism crumbles into blood-stained dust, the only victory afforded to you is that you stuck true to your guns. You were a coward... to your last whimper."
Android #16 to Gohan, Dragon Ball Z Abridged

Sturdy: The most brilliant strategy ever conceived; nonviolent direct action.
Robert: Come again?
Diane: You confront the oppressor and his unjust system, incite him to violence without resorting to violence yourself.
Robert: Why would we do that?
Diane: To prove our moral superiority.
Robert: So we make them want to attack us...
Sturdy: Yes.
Robert: And then, we let them?
Sturdy: Exactly.
Robert: And we don't fight back?
Sturdy: No.
Robert: What about self-defense?
Sturdy: Absolutely not. The only self-defense allowed is singing, and a special kind of nonviolent martial art which protects your attacker at all times; "hard chin, soft hand".
Robert: ...Do you even hear yourselves?
Diane: We're ready for anything, Robert. They can arrest us, beat us-
Robert: Beat us? I think as a people we've taken enough beatings! Don't you think?
Sturdy: Beat us, stab us, sic dogs on us, light us on fire-
Robert: Light us on fire?
Woman: Not that we're expecting that!
Diane: But we are prepared for that to happen.
Robert: You can't get prepared to get lit on fire!
Narrator: In defense of Robert, the strategy of nonviolent direct action, when you actually think about it, is completely insane.

"Pale Ebenezer thought it wrong to fight,
But Roaring Bill (who killed him) thought it right."
Hilaire Belloc

[Rambo has just killed a bunch of pirates who demanded the group's sole female Sarah as a tribute]
Michael: What did you do?! We came here to help stop the killing! Who are you to—
Rambo: [shoves him against a wall] Who are you? He woulda raped her fifty times... and cut your fucking heads off! Who are you?! WHOAREANYOFYOU?!

There had been many towns, mostly of a strong religious persuasion of one kind of another, that had renounced violence, renounced weaponry; that had proclaimed a new era of peace and harmony following the Apocalypse. All had fallen prey to the men of violence who had renounced nothing. Sometimes they had been merely invaded, enslaved. Sometimes, dreadfully, serfdom had been the least of their worries.
Deathlands, "Pilgrimage to Hell"

Very disappointed by people (correctly) preaching the paradox of tolerance seemingly failing to grasp the paradox of pacifism.
Star Trek's a peace lover's utopia, they'd still have all died on the first episode if they made no attempt at self defense, look it up.
