"The first half of Alien is awesome. Great buildup, lots of tension, good characters, mystery and intrigue, no complaints from me whatsoever. The second half is the protagonist wandering around corridors for twenty minutes at a time doing nothing at all, then BOOM! Spooky alien! Okay, another twenty minutes, nothing at all happening, BOOM! Alien. And that's pretty much the rest of the movie. This is the part that feels lame to me. I feel the same way about Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome. Awesome start, kind of weak finish. Now we look at Aliens, and we have the same intrigue, plot buildup, good characters, then bam, it's nonstop survival situations for the rest of the movie. Then a frickin' boss fight at the end. It's just paced so much better."
