(She places her hand on Tatsumi's cheek. He grabs it and pulls it down, however.)

(She takes her last breath, and expires, a smile on her face despite the river of tears suddenly flowing from her eyes as her life peters out. Tatsumi's eyes go wide with grief, tears streaming from his eyes as well.)
Tatsumi: Mine...? Mine! MINE!!!
(He devolves into tears, hugging her corpse and bawling his eyes out.)
(Lelouch Lamperouge has just found Shirley Fenette lying on the ground, dying from a grievous gunshot wound to the chest. He has no idea that his "brother", Rolo, gunned her down earlier.)
Lelouch: Shirley! Shirley, who did this to you?
Shirley: Lulu. I'm glad... we can talk at the very end.
Lelouch: Don't say that. It's not the end. (He pulls out his cellphone.) I'll call a doctor, so just—
(Shirley grabs his hand, stopping him.)
Shirley: Ever since my memories have come back, I've been feeling so very afraid. A teacher who wasn't a teacher... friends who don't have memories to share... everyone was just... lying. It felt as though... the whole world was spying on me. That's the world you've been fighting all by yourself, isn't it? All alone. So that's why I... why I wanted to be someone who would at least be truthful to you.
Lelouch: Shirley...
Shirley: Lulu... I love you. Even knowing how you caught my father in all this... I simply couldn't hate you. Even though you made me forget everything, I still fell in love with you. (Her hand weakly grips Lelouch's hand harder, her eyes beginning to close.) Even though my memories were tampered with, I kept falling in love... with you all over again.
Lelouch (shouting all of a sudden): NO, SHIRLEY! YOU CAN'T DIE!
(Lelouch uses his Geass on her to will her into surviving. But despite it taking effect, Shirley is physically unable to fulfill the command. She continues to bleed out, her blood pooling around Lelouch's feet.)
Shirley: No matter how many times I'm reborn, I'll keep falling in love with you, Lulu. I suppose that it's simply fate.
Lelouch (composure shaking, desperate): No, don't die! (uses Geass again, repeatedly) I ORDER YOU NOT TO DIE!!!
Shirley: So is that OK, then, Lulu?
(Tears are starting to form in Lelouch's eyes as he realizes he is powerless to stop her death. She, too, is teared up as well.)
Shirley: And as I'm reborn... I'll fall in love with you, over and over. I'll keep... falling... in love... with... y...
(Her eyes finally close, and she dies with a smile, her hand lifelessly flopping to the ground in the pool of her blood. Lelouch reacts with wide, griefstricken eyes.)
Lelouch: Shirley...?! Shirley!
Lelouch (skyward): ...GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!
