I think that's how it's supposed to work. The kids are supposed to embarrass the parents, and the parents are supposed to embarrass the kids.

I'm a parent. I do stupid stuff as a parent. You try not to, but you will, eventually, do something stupid.

Then when I wanted my first real bra, my mom went and told all my family and tried to start an "Ally's first bra" SHOPPING PARTY. I was totally humiliated, especially when she started inviting my friends. Then in secret, I had my dad take me to get them. It was kind of embarrassing going with your dad to get a bra, but it was a lot less humiliating than having a shopping party.
