Totally Reprise is a podcast co-hosted by Ashley Minor and "her friend and ours," Mollynote , in which the two of them set out to watch every episode of Totally Spies! (generally with the help of a guest, changing with each episode).

Typically, this involves immediately getting sidetracked by an irrelevant conversation, pointing out a myriad of plot holes and baffling animation choices, and either being disgusted or quite the opposite with whatever the gimmick of the episode is.

The podcast's first episode was released on January 27, 2016, and the last episode was released on December 4th, 2019. You can listen to the episodes here.

This podcast contains these tropes:

  • Alternative Character Interpretation: invoked
    • All three spies are either in a polyamorous triad, or desperately trying to convince themselves that they're straight, depending on which works better for a given joke.
    • Sam is a cold-blooded murderer who's planning to either kill Alex and Clover as soon as she gets an excuse, kill Jerry to take over as head of WOOHP, or both.
    • Jerry is actually the Big Bad who's either planning to use WOOHP to Take Over the World or already has, and knows all the villains' plans in advance because they're all defected agents. invoked
    • All three of the spies are clones that are grown for every mission.
      • Likewise, their "moms" are older clones suffering from accelerated aging due to clone degeneration.
    • In Episode 6, after they hear the Villain of the Week's Start of Darkness note , they speculate that he was just trying to find a cure for Alzheimer's, making him a Tragic Villain.
  • Berserk Button: Being gay and transgender themselves, the hosts will utterly dislike an episode with homophobic/transphobic jokes. They have crowned "Virtual Stranger" as their least favorite episode of Totally Spies! because of how the villains were portrayed.
  • Catchphrase: Various.
    • "Jerry is THE WORST."
    • "Alex, sweetie/honey..."
    • At the end of the episode, Ashley will come up with some creative way to announce to the audience to "Keep spying", sometimes substituting "spying" for a word pertaining to the episode, such as "keep sweating", or saying it in a humorous way, such as in a Karkat Vantas voice, or through playing an keyboard voice singing the song. invoked
  • Dude, Not Funny!: The hosts have had this reaction to:
    • Clover pretending to drown in "Here Comes The Sun".
Ashley: I instantly knew what was going on here, and I was like, "Clover, that is not cool". ...As someone who's almost drowned once, yeah, you don't make a lot of noise.
    • The spies using the villain's mind-controlling perfume to take Jerry to the Sadie Hawkins dance with them at the end of "Green With N.V.".
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Ashley and Molly are both big fans of Mandy, in part because they feel that in a lot of her episodes she's a Designated Villain and in part because of the Awesome Ego factor. invoked
  • Fanservice: The Fetish Fuel aspect of the show is discussed — inevitably, given how infamous the source material is in that respect, we'll leave it at that. invoked
  • I Knew It!: Played for Laughs. Whenever the show provides "evidence" for a joke the girls made in an earlier episode, they take it as proof that they're somehow retroactively creating the show (or predestined to go back in time and join the original writing staff). invoked
  • Incorruptible Pure Pureness: The hosts enjoy viewing Alex as this. invoked
  • Non-Indicative Name: While reviewing "Evil Boyfriend", the hosts point out sometimes the spies' tasks aren't exactly suited for actual spies. invoked
Kevin: They're spies! They're not Totally Detectives!
  • Only Six Faces: Ashley and Molly regularly point out that a lot of boys on the show look exactly the same, or that a random background character is a dead ringer for Jerry (and possibly is Jerry in disguise) or one of the spies.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: That fact that their mandatory twenty minutes of non-spy-related discussion at the beginning of their review of "Virtual Stranger" was cut short shows how much that they just wanted to get that episode over with.
  • Running Gag:
    • The mandatory twenty minutes of non-spy-related discussion at the beginning of each episode.
    • Responding/interjecting "spies" whenever someone says the word "totally."
    • The assertion that, for whatever reason, cows don't exist in the Totally Spies universe. (Though this was eventually disproven.) For that matter, wild and ridiculous assumptions about the setting or characters that are later inevitably proven, if not exactly right, then at least surprisingly close. invoked
  • The Scrappy: Ashley, Molly, and most of the guests agree that Clover and Jerry are the worst. invoked
  • They Killed Kenny Again: Ashley and Molly often joke that the girls die from whatever ridiculous injuries they get themselves into Once per Episode, only for them to immediately carry on to talk about what happens in the next scene. They say, in Episode 32 of their podcast, that they used to keep count of how many times the spies have "died", but they eventually just gave up.
    Molly: It's fuckin' innumerable.
Mike: It's gotta be in the hundreds at this point, right?
    Ashley (Molly): ...Yeah. (Yes).
  • Yuri Fan: Both hosts, which is unsurprising as both are gay themselves. See Alternative Character Interpretation above.
