Basic Trope: Only the main character affects the plot, the rest of the cast are benchwarmers at best.

  • Straight: In Tales of Troperia, Sir Robert is the only character that does stuff. The rest of his group are cast aside and don't get as much focus.
  • Exaggerated: Everyone refuses to pay attention to anything but Sir Robert himself, completely glossing over the teammates. Even potential party members don't look at the others.
  • Downplayed: Every team member gets at most one Crowning Moment of Awesome, Nightmare Fuel, Heartwarming Moment, Tearjerker, or (no, not even an "and" in this situation) Funny Moment. And that's all there is to their resumé that's notable.
  • Justified: Sir Robert is just being more active than the others, doing things on himself more than the rest. Others just get demotivated by his constant taking action that they just stand by.
  • Inverted: The Spotlight-Stealing Squad swiftly ousts Sir Robert as the main focus on the story.
  • Subverted: Sir Robert seems to be doing a lot of work on his own... But others decide that they should at least take some cut of their popularity pie.
  • Double Subverted: They get shoved back down after Emperor Evulz trounces them easily.
  • Parodied:
    • Every new party member that joins your party is swiftly met with the benches, complete with depressed party members that have never seen action at all. Here's an example of that: Quirby greets Hans to the party.
Quirby: Welcome to the club, Hans. Here you'd get to rot away forever and watch Sir Robert take all responsibility and fame from us.
  • Zig-Zagged: There are some who do take some responsibility and fame, and others that don't.
  • Averted: Everyone has a responsibility that gives them fame.
  • Enforced: The Creators of the work have found that Sir Robert has the most popularity votes out of all, which gives them an incentive to make him the main focus of the story. This leaves others to slowly dwindle out, and eventually get dropped out of focus.
  • Lampshaded: "Sir Robert, With All Due Respect, could you please stop taking our jobs?"
  • Invoked: Sir Robert is told that only he can solve everything. He takes this literally.
  • Exploited:
    • Evulz uses the neglected team members' jealousy and feelings of worthlessness to turn them over to his side.
    • Other characters realize that due to Sir Robert never monitoring them at all, they are all Beneath Notice and finally get the chance to pursue their own ambitions.
  • Defied: Marcy absolutely refuses to have Sir Robert be in charge all the time.
Marcy: NO! We REFUSE to be useless! We shall not STAND in the wings, waiting forever! We WANT to do work for you! We NEED to do work for you! Just stop taking all the responsibility and let us do our things!"
  • Discussed: Claidheamh muses at how worthless the other team members are.
Claidheamh: Errr... what the bloody hell? Why's everyone doin' jack fuck? Aren't all'a ya's s'pposed tae be workin' for Sir Robert?
Quirby: He doesn't even let us do our jobs. He does take all the work from us, though.
  • Conversed: "Yeah, I get that these people Can't Catch Up, but... Damn. That's depressing."
  • Implied: Sir Robert is seen doing a lot of the work. While the others are supportive, they often grumble and mutter about how they've got nothing to do.
  • Deconstructed:
    • Sir Robert's constant independence is basically a sign for the rest of the team to just up and leave. If he can do everything on his own, why even bother being with him?
    • Sir Robert's team starts The Mutiny due to the fact that Sir Robert is constantly taking their job.
  • Reconstructed:
  • Played for Laughs: Every time Sir Robert introduces himself to someone, he treats himself as the main focus. It's lucky for the team to even be mentioned in a My Friends... and Zoidberg kind of way.
  • Played for Drama: Sir Robert's team has their loyalty slowly dwindling due to Sir Robert basically taking up all the work.
  • Played for Horror: Ditto Played For Drama, but instead of loyalty, it's sanity.
