Basic Trope: Two (or more) members of the band contribute lead vocals.
- Straight:
- The Sharkheads have Alice and Bob. Alice sings while Bob raps in a back-and-forth manner.
- Alice contrasts her clean vocals with Bob's Harsh Vocals in a Soprano and Gravel setting.
- Alice and Bob harmonize their vocals together.
- Alice and Bob trade vocals on a song-by-song basis.
- Alice and Bob go back-and-forth in Silly Love Song Duets.
- Exaggerated: Every member of The Sharkheads provides lead vocals in every single song.
- Downplayed: Alice is the definite frontwoman of the band, but guitarist and backing vocalist Bob gets two songs to himself in each album.
- Justified:
- The Sharkheads don't want to have be defined as I Am the Band, so they have two vocalists to add variety and help sell themselves as a unit.
- The song is about working together, what's better than leading by example?
- It's a Charity Motivated Supergroup, they should all sing to let the audience know that, yes, they all believe in the cause they sing for.
- Inverted: ???
- Subverted: The Sharkheads hype up the fact that Alice and Bob are both vocalists, but really only Alice sings lead while Bob provides backing vocals in the chorus.
- Double Subverted: ... But their next song features both of them giving lead vocals back-and-forth.
- Parodied: Alice and Bob (and any of the others) trade back and forth on every single word.
- Zig Zagged: Some albums feature only Alice singing all the songs, while other albums showcase Bob also. However, Bob sings often enough to avert Step Up to the Microphone.
- Averted: Alice is signposted as the lead vocalist, Bob only provides backing vocals.
- Enforced: The manager wants to appeal to everyone, so he insists that both Alice and Bob sing so they can attract women and men.
- Lampshaded: "We're not like those other bands who only have one singer, we got two!"
- Invoked: ???
- Exploited: Because both Alice and bob sing, their manager or record company forces them to record a lot of Silly Love Songs.
- Defied: "No! One singer is enough, having multiple singers would take away the focus of the band!"
- Discussed: ???
- Conversed: ???
