Basic Trope: An object that enables or focuses one's transformation.
- Straight: Alice uses a bracelet to transform into Pretty Warrior Angelica.
- Bob uses his belt buckle to transform into Masked Knight Black.
- Exaggerated:
- Alice wears an entire suit of armor to become Beautiful Goddess Angelica.
- Alice's bracelet has several different charms on it, each capable of transforming her into a different alter-ego.
- While Bob's transformed, he can mount another belt buckle (which is already a Transformation Trinket by itself) on top of his own, causing him to transform even further into Masked Knight Black Ω.
- Downplayed: Alice's bracelet simply amplifies her latent abilities, letting her become Sweet Maiden Alice.
- Instant Armor: Bob presses a button on his belt buckle and a swarm of Nanomachines comes out of it and quickly covers his body, acting as a suit of armor.
- Justified:
- If Alice was constantly transformed she'll end up drawing a lot of attention from the villains.
- The transformation is separate in case Alice dies, so a successor could be easily empowered.
- Bob's a soldier, and his belt buckle is a mass-manufactured standard issue item designed to be usable by anyone who can wear it.
- Alice's warrior outfit is stored in the bracelet when not in use.
- Inverted:
- Pretty Warrior Angelica uses her magical bracelet to suppress her powers, becoming Alice to others.
- Alice's presence is required to unlock her bracelet's morphic abilities.
- Bob's belt buckle actually acts as a shackle that prevents him from transforming. He has to get it removed in order to be able to transform again.
- Subverted: Alice's bracelet seems important to her transformations, but in actuality it does nothing.
- Double Subverted: ...However, while her powers are inherent, Alice uses the bracelet to change her appearance into Pretty Warrior Angelica.
- Parodied: A team of ordinary construction workers use their magical hard hats to become Super Constructor Team X.
- Zig Zagged: Alice uses her Amulet of Concentrated Awesome to transform, but during a battle it falls off her wrist... and she remains transformed. However, her Mentor Mascot quickly reminds her that without the trinket, she will only remain transformed for a short time.
- Averted: Alice's powers and transformations are inherent to her.
- Alice doesn't transform, period. Those bracelets are just for show.
- Enforced: "We need more toys we could market. How about we make Alice one of those Magical Girls and give her a special trinket?"
- Lampshaded: "Wait, you need a bracelet at all times to transform? Geez, would it be right to laugh if a dresser was your downfall?"
- Invoked: Alice separates her powers into a bracelet to disincentive the enemies from killing her.
- Exploited: Queen Eviloverlordia simply has her Mooks target Alice's bracelet instead of killing her.
- Jacker Foundation decides to copy Bob's belt buckle and mass-manufacture it, with the intent of issuing the said copies to their Elite Mooks.
- Defied: Alice intensively studies magic so she can replicate her abilities without the bracelet.
- Discussed:
- Conversed: ???
- Implied: Alice is always wearing the same bracelet every time she transforms, though nobody ever brings it up.
- Deconstructed:
- Since Alice's powers are all bestowed by her bracelet, the enemies don't even bother trying to kill her and instead focus on destroying or stealing it.
- And when they do, she stops moving because the bracelet was her Soul Jar.
- Since Alice's powers are all bestowed by her bracelet, the enemies don't even bother trying to kill her and instead focus on destroying or stealing it.
- Reconstructed: Though the bracelet is the source of Alice's powers, it’s far more durable than she is and practically a Clingy Macguffin. Thus it’s easier to kill Alice than remove the bracelet altogether.
