  • Parodied:
  • Zig-Zagged: ???
  • Averted:
    • No one is sprayed by a skunk.
    • Bob is sprayed by a skunk, but uses a remedy that is known to work in Real Life.
  • Enforced: Rule of Funny.
  • Lampshaded: "Hey, I can't believe that worked!"
  • Invoked: Bob bothers a skunk to test the myth of whether or not tomato sauce gets rid of the smell.
  • Exploited: Bob wonders what other smells he can remove with tomato sauce.
  • Defied:
    • Bob is sprayed by a skunk, and looks up the actual treatment for it.
    • Bob avoids bothering a skunk he encounters so that it won't spray him.
  • Discussed: "Are you sure this is gonna work?" "Yeah, I Saw It in a Movie Once!"
  • Conversed: "I wonder why people in fiction think tomato sauce gets rid of skunk smell."
  • Deconstructed: The treatment doesn't work - the only thing tomato sauce really does for skunk smell is cover it, although it may wash off some of the chemical components causing the smell.
  • Reconstructed: So then Bob tries the actual treatment for skunk spray. (1 quart of hydrogen peroxide, quarter of a cup of baking soda, and 1-2 teaspoons of dish soap)
