Basic Trope: A villain who pushes people to commit evil or even turn to the dark side.

  • Straight: Evulz seduced Bob to kill Alice, deceiving him that she allegedly killed his family, and revenge is sweet.
  • Exaggerated:
    • Evulz gathers and sets up each member of the team of heroes against each other.
    • Evulz can turn anyone into a monster, no matter how all-loving or pure, and he enjoys corrupting people so much that it's basically a hobby of his.
    • Evulz has corrupted God to destroy the world.
  • Downplayed: Evulz sets Bob up to rob Alice for robbing him.
  • Justified:
    • Evulz wants Bob to be his ally.
    • Evulz is a Manipulative Bastard, who is perfectly aware of all the subtleties of human psychology.
  • Subverted: When Bob refused to kill Alice, Evulz comes in to congratulate him for passing his Secret Test of Character.

  • Parodied: Evulz corrupts Bob into littering, swearing and stealing candy from babies.
  • Averted: Evulz never seduces anyone.
  • Defied: Alice and Charlie, having learned that Evulz corrupted Bob, try to stop him.
