Basic Trope: Someone is really good at cooking.

  • Straight: Ronald is a virtuoso in the kitchen whose meals are always delicious.
  • Exaggerated: Ronald's food is the best you'll ever taste in your life, and he doesn't have to lift a finger to make it amazing.
  • Downplayed:
    • Ronald's food is notably good compared to everyone else, but nothing to write home about.
    • Ronald can make delicious food, but he only does it for people he really likes. For the most part, his food is just decent.
  • Justified: Ronald has lots of culinary training.
  • Inverted: Ronald is a terrible cook.
  • Subverted:
    • Ronald's food only looks good. When anyone actually tastes it, it's disgusting.
    • Ronald's food is praised by Marcus. Everyone else tries it and it turns out it's not that good; Marcus just has a Bizarre Taste in Food.
  • Double Subverted:
    • The reactions lead Ronald to brush up on his cooking skills, and now his food actually is quite good.
    • But Ronald is such a good cook that he was able to specifically cater to Marcus's tastes with that dish. He can also prepare normal, delicious food for everyone else just fine.
  • Parodied:
    • Ronald puts painstaking effort into the weirdest meals possible, and somehow, they always turn out good.
    • Ronald is always cooking, all the time. When he's driving to work, he's cooking up hash browns in the passenger seat. When he's sleeping, he's tossing pizza dough. And when he's showering, he's brought sugar and lemons to make lemonade.
  • Zig-Zagged: Ronald's cooking skills depend on what he's trying to make.
  • Averted:
    • Ronald is an okay cook.
    • Ronald doesn't cook.
  • Enforced:
    • The show's creators want to start doing tie-ins with restaurants, so they create a character who's great at cooking so he can be used in the promotions.
    • It's a biopic on a Real Life Supreme Chef.
  • Lampshaded: "Ronald's food is amazing!"
  • Invoked: Ronald decides to enroll in culinary school so his food will be good.
  • Exploited: Ronald's friends take advantage of him to avoid needing to pay for expensive meals and catering.
  • Defied: Ronald only eats out or makes pre-packaged meals, avoiding the need to cook anything himself.
  • Discussed: "Isn't that Ronald, like, a great cook or something?"
  • Conversed: "Man, what I wouldn't give to have a friend like Ronald in real life."
  • Implied: When Mary is organizing a party, she appoints her unseen friend Ronald to be the caterer. Everyone immediately agrees with this choice.
  • Deconstructed: While Ronald is a great cook, he tends to make overly large and self-indulgent meals that end up being harmful to his health.
  • Reconstructed: He takes advantage of his cooking skills to make healthier foods and controls his portions.
