Basic Trope: In a Fan Fic, characters are given superpowers.
- Straight: In the kids' show Liza, Gabby, and Friends, Liza and Gabby are just two normal little girls, but in a fanfic of it, Liza and/or Gabby are given super powers.
- Exaggerated: Everyone is given super powers.
- Downplayed: Gabby has superpowers for half of the fanfic.
- Justified: Becoming a superhero is possible In-Universe.
- Inverted: In the fanfiction, Gabby's dad, who is a superhero In-Universe, is Brought Down to Normal.
- Subverted: Liza seems to be getting superpowers, but it is really magic working on her.
- Double Subverted: Then Gabby gets superpowers.
- Parodied: Liza and Gabby's superpowers are just their In-Universe skills, made supernatural.
- Averted: Nobody is given superpowers in the fanfic.
- Zigzagged: In the fanfic, everyone has superpowers which keep randomly turning on and off.
- Enforced: Gabby's dad is a superhero, so the fanfic writer wonders "What if it's genetic?"
- Lampshaded: "I've never seen Liza do that before! And is Gabby...shooting lasers out of her eyes??!!"
- Invoked: Alice (that's Liza's mom) gives her daughter something that will make whoever it's used on become a superhero.
- Exploited: Liza and Gabby can do amazing things with their powers.
- Defied: The story seems to be setting up Liza and Gabby to be part of a Mass Empowering Event at summer camp, but the author instead writes that they sneak off to go to the mall and are terrorized by a Loony Fan, with corresponding notes that he doesnt knows how they would be good as superheroes, so he wont even try.
- Discussed: A whole conversation springs up about how Liza and Gabby got their powers.
- Conversed: "This fanfic writer didn't explain how they got their powers, they could at least explain!"
- Implied: Supernatural-seeming things seem to happen and all evidence points to Liza.
- Deconstructed: Gabby, in her Power Incontinence, ends up causing chaos.
- Reconstructed: Liza cleans up.
- Played for Laughs: Lisa and Gabby do such things with their superpowers like flash-freeze a lake so they can do some summertime skating with a note that all of the fauna and flora got Harmless Freezing because superpowers.
- Played for Drama: Liza and Gabby must save the world while trying to control their Power Incontinence.
- Played for Horror: Liza and Gabby are the show's Alpha Bitch duo and the author's favorite comic book is Irredeemable. Do the math.
