Basic Trope: A character's clothes/towel come off after getting caught on something.
- Straight: Claire goes through a doorway. Her skirt gets caught and comes off.
- Exaggerated: Claire is in full winter gear. Her shoelace gets caught in a doorway, which causes Claire to wind up naked.
- Downplayed:
- Only a piece of Claire's skirt comes off.
- Claire’s towel is caught in a doorway and falls off, leaving her naked.
- Justified:
- The skirt is too loose, and would easily come off if caught on something.
- It's safer to have the cape rip loose than to have someone choke due to it being caught on something.
- Inverted: Claire is naked, and gets her foot stuck in a door. This causes her to put clothes on.
- Subverted: Claire's skirt doesn't rip after being stuck in the doorway...
- Double Subverted: But it does after it gets caught on a bush.
- Parodied:
- Claire's skirt comes off after being snagged by a pillow.
- Claire is already nude and her skin itself gets caught on things in this manner.
- Claire is a Funny Animal who doesn't wear clothes, but her fur falls off, causing her to have a Naked Freak-Out as if she lost her clothes.
- Zig-Zagged:
- Claire's clothes get stuck on various things, sometimes coming off and sometimes not.
- Claire immediately notices that her skirt is caught on something and intentionally removes it to get free, balks at deliberately disrobing once more when her underwear snags next and is then startled so bad that she bolts off at a speed that tears her underwear up, leaving her bottomless as she runs as a result.
- Averted: Claire's skirt never gets caught.
- Enforced: This trope usually happens to Claire because she's a Reluctant Fanservice Girl.
- Lampshaded: "Gah! I need to fix that door. My skirt always comes off when I go through it."
- Invoked: Alice slams the door shut on Claire's skirt to cause this.
- Exploited: Claire lets her Modesty Towel come off this way while Michael is coming down the hall as a means of getting his attention.

- Claire checks and sees her skirt is caught. She frees it before it can rip.
- Claire eschews wearing skirts in favour of close-fitting pants that won't be caught on things.
- Claire takes the extreme measure of removing all her own clothes and going through every door fully nude just to avoid this problem.
- Discussed: "Claire, you need to fix that door. Your skirt always gets caught in it!"
- Conversed: "Claire's the Butt-Monkey! Her losing her skirt this way could be hilarious."
- Deconstructed: Claire's anxiety disorder gets worse as a result of her skirt coming off in the doorway.

- Claire gets her clothes torn off while she's hiking in a remote forest. The temperature drops and she develops hypothermia, which kills her, and when Ranger Robert finds her, her body has decayed to a point that it gives him nightmares.
