Go To

Basic Trope: A serial killer who preys on other murderers and criminal scum.

  • Straight: Alice is vicious serial killer who thankfully only goes after murderers, child molesters, drug dealers and many other ills of society.
  • Exaggerated: Alice's targets also include internet trolls, pranksters, school bullies, people who cut in lines and bratty children.
  • Downplayed: Alice's modus operandi involves torturing and injuring her victims into changing their ways.
  • Justified:
  • Inverted: Alice is a Hero Killer.
  • Subverted: Alice doesn't kill anyone, she simply leaves them unconscious, so officers can deal with them more easily.
  • Double Subverted: Although her methods can "accidentally" kill her targets on some occasions.
  • Parodied: Alice is the villain of an over the top slasher movie plot where a bunch of serial killers are lured into a cabin in the woods. The serial killers act largely like stereotypical slasher characters despite being utter psychopaths.
  • Unparodied: Alice deliberately sets up a scenario where the serial killers find themselves in a slasher setting as the victims because she finds the irony hilarious.
  • Zig-Zagged: Alice doesn't always kill her victims, all that matters is getting them out of the way and preferably, punishing them. Given how horrible her victims are, and how hard it is to involve the police for her particular targets, killing them is just the most expedient and practical option most of the time.
  • Averted: Alice has a strict code of honor and is not allowed to kill her enemies, no matter how evil they are.
  • Enforced: "We want our story to be as Grim as possible, how about having our heroine actively kill the bad guys?"
  • Lampshaded: "This is fun! I can see why you guys like it so much!" *stab*.
  • Invoked: Alice got fed up with the rampant crime on her city and decided to take justice on her own hands.
  • Exploited: The police start tipping Alice off about known serial killers who they're having trouble catching, hoping she'll do their job for them.
  • Defied: The police make absolutely sure to catch every serial killer and other notorious criminal they can to avoid a surge of vigilantism.
  • Discussed: "Alice is pretty insane, but I can't say I care too much given her victims."
  • Conversed: "I like this kind of slasher film better. The violence is more entertaining when the victims deserve it!"
  • Implied: Everybody is quick to notice how proud and smug Alice looks whenever there's a news report on TV about a wanted criminal found dead.
  • Deconstructed: Asshole victims or not, what Alice is doing is still a serious crime and it leads to her ultimately being arrested and imprisoned.
  • Reconstructed: But there are plenty of serial killers in the prison for Alice to continue her spree on.
  • Played for Laughs: Alice has a hilariously over the top serial killer persona, making it hard for her targets to take her seriously.
  • Played for Drama: Alice starts to lose her sense of morality and fall deeper and deeper into darkness, until she starts killing non-serial killers to quench her thirst to kill.
  • Played for Horror: A Villain Protagonist story turns into a Mook Horror Show when Alice comes into the picture.
