Basic Trope: Insanity and ill health runs in a royal family.
- Straight: After many centuries of inbreeding, the royal family of Troperia have produced kings and queens that are severely mentally and physically disabled.
- Exaggerated: Queen Alice V is so inbred that, through several genetic deformities, she dies barely a month after being crowned at birth. This isn't the first time this has happened in the family.
- Downplayed: The Troperian royal family practice cousin marriage, yet have (mostly) seen competent rulers.
- Justified: The Troperian royal family is obsessed with keeping their blood "pure".
- Inverted: The Troperian royal family are the least inbred out of the population of Troperia.
- Subverted: The Troperian royals are not inbred, it was rumors by opposing factions.
- Double Subverted: A few centuries of marrying their neighbouring families after causes inevitable incest anyways.
- Parodied: It is revealed that King Bob VI's parents were actually second cousins once removed. Upon the revelation, King Bob, who has been a normal looking and fairly competent ruler so far, suddenly grows webbed toes, and goes on to make ridiculous laws, force everyone to own a pony, and start wars for stupid reasons.
- Zig-Zagged: The royals are not inbred - but are screwed up anyways through sheer genetic bad luck.
- Averted: Troperia abolishes the royals in a revolution after a series of short-reigning and useless monarchs successively deteriorate the throne's power..
- Enforced: The writers of the show know that royal families would inbreed frequently, and decided to add some Truth in Television.
- Lampshaded: "Man, the royals really need to stop copulating with their sisters or else we'll keep getting David VII's."
- Invoked: The royals are explicitly forbidden from marrying anybody not of royal blood.
- Exploited: An enemy state takes over Troperia whilst their government is too concern with the health of their ruler.
- Defied: Troperian royals look for spouses outside of royalty to ensure that their children aren't screwed up.
- Discussed: "What is it with the Troperian dynasty and screwing their siblings?"
- Conversed: "Welcome to the "great" aristocracy, my friend."
- Deconstructed: A series of weak monarchs allows the rival state of Clicheria to take over Troperia.
- Reconstructed: Turns out that the Clicherians weren't much better at not reproducing with their close relatives.
- Played for Laughs: Somehow, inbreeding has caused the latest king, Zack I, to be born as a literal carrot. He laments on his inbreeding-induced plight Once an Episode.
