Basic Trope: After waking up from being asleep for a long time, a character needs to pee.
- Straight: Alice is asleep for 100 years like Sleeping Beauty and when Prince Bob wakes her up with a kiss, she has a Potty Emergency.
- Exaggerated: When she does pee, it lasts for an hour.
- Downplayed: Alice needs to pee after a long night's sleep.
- Justified: One of the first things people often do when they wake up is go to the bathroom, so it's reasonable that one would really need to go after being asleep for ages.
- Inverted:
- Alice has fallen unconscious, so Bob makes use of the old prank: he puts her hand in a bowl of warm water, and she's awakened by her sudden need to urinate.
- Alternatively, after drinking a Gigantic Gulp, Alice spends so long peeing in the bathroom that she's exhausted from peeing and falls asleep afterwards.
- Alice wakes up from her century-long sleep being extremely thirsty.
- Subverted:
- Alice wakes up from slumber and seems to do the Potty Dance, but she is really just dancing with joy.
- Alice is asleep for five years, wakes up, and frantically runs off... to the arcade.
- Double Subverted: ...But also needs the bathroom.
- Parodied:
- When Alice wakes up after from her 100 year sleep, she immediately rushes to the bathroom and pees with the force of a fire hose. The stream is so strong that it breaks the toilet and strips the paint off the wall.
- Alice wakes up after a short nap and winds up flooding the bathroom.
- Zig Zagged: Bob wakes up Alice, Carol, and Dave from stasis. Alice needs to pee really badly, Dave only needs to pee a little bit, and Carol doesn't need to pee at all.
- Averted: Alice doesn't need to pee, even after waking from the deep sleep.
