Basic Trope: A ring that has special abilities, thanks to magic and/or technology.
  • Straight: Bob the Brave wields a ring that will make a Flaming Sword appear when Bob says the right words.
  • Exaggerated: When Bob says "Let there be light" when wearing the ring, a new universe is made.
  • Downplayed: The ring has no active abilities, but it will make sure to fit any and only the ring fingers of the Tropian royal family (and it does recognize those married and adopted).
  • Justified: Simon the Wise found that any other item was just impractical to imbue this power with, even other items worn on the hand.
  • Inverted: The ring is a Power Limiter: Bob can only use his powers when he takes the ring off.
  • Subverted: Bob takes the ring from Princess Mary, who removes it from her ermine hand muff, but the ring doesn't do anything.
  • Double Subverted: It's power is activated with the hand muff, which had its own magic imbued into it.
  • Parodied:
    • Bob can barely flick his fingers without causing a small bit of lightning to jump out of the ring.
    • When Bob marries Alice, he puts a ring on her that makes a bouquet appear in her hands.
  • Zig Zagged: ???
  • Averted: The ring is just jewelry.
  • Enforced: The toy company really wants those rings to be a hit.
  • Lampshaded: “Incredible power, stored in a fashionable piece of jewelry.”
  • Invoked: Bob insists that Simon imbue the ring, as he finds other items are too easy to misplace.
  • Exploited: Knowing that the treasure is a powerful ring, Bob makes sure to lose weight, so his fingers aren't too fat to wear it.
  • Defied: Simon makes sure to imbue only necklaces and crowns. For some reason, those cause less trouble.
  • Discussed: ???
  • Conversed: ???
  • Deconstructed: Emperor Evulz cuts Bob's hand before he can use it, then easily kills Bob.
  • Reconstructed: There are many items capable of storing a sword-summoning spell, but most are either inconveniently heavy, or flashy and conspicuous enough for enemies to notice and attempt to steal it. A ring was chosen as the ideal item to imbue Bob’s flaming sword spell in because it is both easy for Bob to carry and hard for his enemies to see.
