Basic Trope: A Broken Pedestal gets fixed.

  • Straight: Bob becomes angry at his mentor after finding out he was working with Emperor Evulz, but then he finds out that the information was a lie, and they are back on good terms.
  • Exaggerated: Bob writes off his mentor as dead to him after finding out that he's been doubling as Evulz's Dragon, but then his mentor rescues him and it turns out the whole story was a hallucination induced by Evulz. They're back together and closer than ever.
  • Downplayed:
    • Forge was working with Evulz... after Evulz threatened his family. Bob still calls his mentor an uncreative coward, but eventually forgives him.
    • Forge executes an unarmed helpless prisoner, noting their various crimes, and why holding him prisoner would be impractical and risky. Bob is initially disgusted by Forge, but eventually comes around. He never treats Forge as a father figure and guide, treating him as a morally ambiguous boss at best.
  • Justified:
  • Inverted: Bob initially hates Evulz, then decides his actions might be justified, and finally decides he's evil again.
  • Subverted: Bob's hated his traitorous mentor since the first episode, but it's repeatedly hinted that he's a Trickster Mentor with a plan... until The Reveal that he's The Man Behind the Man, and even Evulz is playing into his hands.
  • Double Subverted: ...Which causes Evulz to Heel–Face Turn and team up with Bob. Bob eventually realizes this was his mentor's plan all along.
  • Zig Zagged: ...Probably.
  • Parodied: Bob disowns his mentor after finding out he prefers tea over coffee, but by the end of the episode, they're back together again, sipping their preferred drinks side by side.
  • Averted: Bob and his mentor never reconcile.
  • Enforced: The executives want to do a quick story about the perceived betrayal and get back to business, so Bob and his mentor have to reconcile.
  • Lampshaded: ???
  • Invoked: ???
  • Exploited: ???
  • Defied: "I don't care! I'll never forgive you."
  • Discussed: ???
  • Conversed: "It happens a lot in movies. Yeah, the hero and his mentor break up, but then they're back together again by the end of the film."
  • Implied: Bob is last seen rejecting his mentor, but after his death, Bob speaks a little more fondly of him.
