Basic Trope: Averting Nobody Poops, while in water.

  • Straight: Alice pees in a swimming pool.
  • Exaggerated:
    • The whole cast pees in the pool.
    • Alice pees so much that the pool ends up overflowing.
    • Alice pees and poops in every body of water in the area.
    • Alice pees into the pool, while standing on the deck.
  • Downplayed:
  • Justified:
    • Alice is lazy and crude.
    • Alice has incontinence problems.
    • Alice is five and doesn't understand why peeing in the pool is not considered acceptable.
    • Alice is having a Potty Emergency, and the only nearby toilet is a Disgusting Public Toilet.
    • The water was very cold, and Alice accidentally peed as a result.
    • Alice is swimming in a lake with no toilets nearby.
  • Inverted:
    • Someone in a pool pees on Alice.
    • Alice has the really strange ability to absorb pee from a pool back into her body.
    • Alice spills food and/or drink in the pool.
  • Subverted:
    • It is revealed that Alice despite having a Potty Emergency, and looking relieved while in the pool, and Bob noting the water got warmer, it is revealed that Alice was relieved as she'd just been in the bathroom five seconds ago and got into the pool, and the heating had turned on.
    • Alice starts to pee in the pool, but someone catches note of what she's doing and tells her to stop.
  • Double Subverted:
    • Then, Bob's dog comes along and pees in the pool.
    • Alice ignores the person and continues to pee in the pool.
  • Averted:
  • Parodied:
  • Zig Zagged: Alice, during a Potty Emergency, almost pees in the pool several times, but eventually doesn't.
  • Enforced: To set up An Aesop about not peeing in the pool.
  • Lampshaded: "Did the water just get warmer?"
  • Invoked: Alice deliberately pees in a pool.
  • Exploited: The dye that turns purple when someone pees in the pool is invented by Bob, who makes a profit out of it.
  • Defied:
    • "Peeing in the pool? No way dude, that's just gross."
    • Alice starts peeing in the pool but gets kicked out or told to stop.
  • Discussed: "No peeing in the pool." "Why not?" "It's disgusting."
  • Conversed: "A pool? Here's hoping the characters don't pee in it."
  • Implied: Alice is having a Potty Emergency and doing a Potty Dance. After going into the pool, she is no longer potty dancing.
  • Deconstructed: The pool becomes a health hazard from too many pee-ers.
  • Reconstructed: This leads to An Aesop about not peeing in pools, after which nobody pees in the pool again.
  • Played for Laughs: Toilet Humor
  • Played for Drama: Alice's peeing gives Bob a disease.
