- Gender Inverted: Alice thinks that Bob will sweep her up and onto a life in his shining mansion, Alice is too much of a Spoiled Brat for Bob to want anything with her.
- Subverted: Bob is revealed to be a decent guy and the reasons for his bad behavior early on is because he wasn't infatuated with Alice yet.

- Parodied: Bob does so many things that will obviously no one would want to deal with, he still thinks he can win Alice's heart .
- Zig Zagged: Bob acts like a jerk to Alice only to reveal that he is actually decent, only to reveal his true colors and then use a love potion on Alice, than the potion wears off...
