Basic Trope: A parodic Mary Sue.
- Straight: In a Tales of Troperia Troll Fic, Mitzi Angelica Marlena Estelle Maya Lorelai Velma Selene Hermia Celeste Ivy Aurora Marcella Annalise Cassandra Ingrid Lola Roxanne Aria Miriam Natalia Rose Candida Penelope Amalia Maxine Priscilla Daphne Starflower immediately wins the favor of the Five-Man Band becoming a Sixth Ranger, defeating the Big Bad all by herself, has The Lancer Hiroki fall in love with her (they go on to start the most beautiful and perfect family in all of Troperia), and convinces The Leader Alex to fall in love with The Smart Guy Charles, all with a hefty dose of humor and satire.
- Exaggerated:
- Mitzi also convinces The Heart Laurie and The Dragon Victor, a Crack Pairing but Mitzi's OTP, together, Mitzi rides a unicorn everywhere in a universe without unicorns, has Incorruptible Pure Pureness, and waxes about her clichéd Dark and Troubled Past.
- In a Tales of Troperia Troll Fic, Mitzi Luser Zux'At Aether Thing Four Eva is a Butt-Monkey in-and-out universe. However, in a world where being a Butt-Monkey is a sign of beauty and attractiveness, Mitzi becomes the strongest and the most beautiful woman by the sole virtue of being the "unluckiest" human in the entire universe. Her unluckiness also gives her Nigh-Invulnerability because she's expected to endure suffering for the sake of entertainment values and thus cannot die easily. In a world where being unlucky is a virtue, Mitzi becomes the most beloved and popular hero in her world.
- In a Tales of Troperia Troll Fic, Mitzi Luser Zux'At Aether Thing Four Eva is drafted into the team specifically to be a parodic version of the Mary Sue archetype — not to use her as a weapon or to get rid of her, but because they know this is a Troll Fic where they have to deal with a Parody Sue and her special skill is acting like one.
- Downplayed: Mitzi is really just an ordinary character, but she's prone to very self-indulgent daydreams where she has all of those wish-fulfillment characteristics.
- Justified: Mitzi found a genie lamp in her younger years and wished to be perfect in every way, only to find out that the genie had a sense of humour.
- Inverted:
- In a Tales of Troperia Troll Fic, Mitzi Luser Zux'At Aether Thing Four Eva is meant to be a Mary Sue treated seriously in-and-out universe. In the actual plot however, other than her Informed Ability and Informed Attribute, she's a Butt-Monkey and a Heroic Wannabe who causes more harms than helps, to the point the audiences believe that she's a Parody Sue even though it's not what the author intended.
- In a Tales of Troperia Troll Fic, Mitzi Evans is a Ridiculously Average Guy who dresses plainly, has no standout traits, and is otherwise a Forgettable Character... if not for the fact that the narrative keeps coming back to her to show how not involved in the heroes' story she is and how nothing special will happen to her.
- The Five-Man Band is in a Troll Fic or Abridged Series where they're Flanderized to their most obnoxious traits, and are continually annoyed with having Mitzi Luser Zux'At Aether Thing Four Eva on the team, ironically enough, for acting like a canon character would.
- Subverted:
- Mitzi walks into the Bad Guy Bar where the Five-Man Band hangs out. The bartender says "We don't take kindly to Mary Sues 'round these parts," and shoots her dead.
- Despite Mitzi being introduced with a silly name, appearance, and abilities, her presence in the Tales of Troperia fic is limited to being merely an Original Flavour side character.
- Double Subverted:
- Then, by the magic of her Incorruptible Pure Pureness, she comes Back from the Dead. She then uses this to Wangst about for the rest of the story.
- Shooting her only changed what kind of Sue she's supposed to parody. Mitzi revives, but now the story is warped to be about everyone obsessing over killing her, rather than liking her.
- Parodied: This trope cannot be parodied, since this trope is already a parody on the Mary Sue trope.
- Zigzagged: Sometimes Mitzi is played for parody, sometimes she is played straight.
- Averted:
- Enforced: Mitzi is a Mary Sue of this manner, as the author intends to appeal to the stigma of the label.
- Lampshaded: The character's name is Maria Suzannah.
- Invoked: Mitzi goes out of her way to make herself look as ridiculous as possible in order to avoid suspicions of her being a genuine Mary Sue.
- Exploited:
- Mitzi is a Sixth Ranger Traitor posing as the most perfect person to infiltrate the group to betray the Five-Man Band to the Big Bad. She's too perfect to be a true hero, and yet nobody suspects her in a second because of her perfect beauty.
- Mitzi's perfectness is exactly why she was hired by the team. With everyone focusing on how unrealistic she is, the Five-Man Band can divert attention from similar things they've done. They can't be that bad, honest: Mitzi's done way worse than they'll ever do!
- Defied: Mitzi is denied entrance into the Five-Man Band.
- Mitzi is killed off by a genre-savvy character who desperately wants to avoid being in her harem.
- Discussed: "She's practically a strawman! All she's here to do is be prim and perfect so we can show off how well-rounded and flawed we are."
- Conversed: "It's like she gracefully stepped down from the pages of some bad fanfic."
- Deconstructed: Mitzi is so perfect she wins over the heart of the Big Bad and he surrenders. The Five-Man Band, now with nothing to do, goes home and there is no adventure.
- Reconstructed:
- The Big Bad eventually tires of her Mary Sue ways and turns evil again. The Five-Man Band reconvenes and the adventure is on as usual.
- Feeling that Victory Is Boring, Mitzi turns evil and aspires to become the perfect villain so that the heroes would have some legitimate challenges. It goes too perfect to the point she has successfully committed numerous villainies. The Five-Man Band has a new goal and the adventure begins again.
- Played for Drama:
- Mitzi's Mary Sue behaviors cause a fed-up Francis to quit the team. Without him, the Five-Man Band fails to defeat the Big Bad and evil wins the day.
- Mitzi turns out to be Evil All Along. Because of how perfectly powerful she is, the Five-Man Band would never have a chance to defeat her. Both her minions and even some of the heroes fall in love in her. Those who don't, however, become increasing apathetic to the world as no one can stop her from mowing down planets after planets for her personal firework show.
- Being (or at least seeming) perfect takes a lot of effort on Mitzi's part, and when the stain does start to show, everyone else thinks it's funny and/or cathartic to see "Little Miss Perfect" get taken down a notch. Eventually, the stress and lack of sympathy are just too much to take, and she has a complete breakdown.
- Mitzi gets a rude awakening through a Surprisingly Realistic Outcome, and the canon characters don't go along with what she thinks her backstory is and relationships to them are. Hiroki, instead of being in love with her, has no idea who she is and is creeped out by her advances. Alex, Charles, and their respective canonical love interests that she's trying to break up to get them with each other won't put up with Mitzi trying to interfere with their lives. And trying to singlehandedly defeat the Big Bad ends in a humiliating failure that very nearly costs Mitzi her life. Mitzi begins to feel like she's either being Gaslit or her whole life is made of Fake Memories.
