Basic Trope: A character has an incredibly lengthy tongue.
- Straight: Alice's tongue is as long as a chameleons.
- Exaggerated: Alice's tongue is 50 feet long.
- Downplayed: Alice's tongue is just slightly longer than that of an average person.
- Justified:
- Alice is an Akaname.
- Alice is a frog or another animal with a long tongue.
- Alice was radiated by toxic chemicals.
- Inverted: Alice's tongue is shorter than normal.
- Subverted:
- Alice has something that isn't exactly a tongue, but it more-or-less has the same function.
- Alice gets her Tongue on the Flagpole, and it gets longer as she pulls on it because she's from a squash and stretch cartoon. It soon thaws and retracts.
- Double Subverted: Her tongue is now stuck at the length it was stretched.
- Parodied: With her abnormally long tongue, Alice decides to be a frog themed superhero.
- Zig-Zagged: Alice sometimes has one, sometimes she doesn't.
- Averted:
- Alice's tongue isn't long at all.
- Alice has no tongue.
- Enforced: Alice has a very long tongue because of Rule of Funny.
- Implied: Alice is a frog, but doesn't show her tongue being long.
