Basic Trope: Giant, typically dimwitted humanoid monsters.

  • Straight: Ogres vary, but they're typically big, dumb, and really strong. A perfect example of this is Bob.
  • Exaggerated: Then there's the Oni from Japan, where they're a lot more advanced than the typical ogres, although some are more brutish. One of the oni who are of the Genius Bruiser / Badass Bookworm kind is Hikari while his Annoying Younger Sibling Senko clearly falls into Dumb Muscle (and even then, it's more Genius Ditz than full on idiot). Don't even get started on those around the world.
  • Downplayed: The Ogres don't eat humans. They have a ridiculous appetite, though.
  • Justified: ???
  • Inverted: ???
  • Subverted: ???
  • Double Subverted: ???
  • Parodied: ???
  • Zig-Zagged: ???
  • Averted: Ogres don't exist.
  • Enforced: The creators wanted a Smash Mook, but trolls are depicted as lanky, goblins as mischievous, and orcs as the Proud Warrior Race. They turn to this trope instead.
  • Lampshaded: ???
  • Invoked: ???
  • Exploited: The top class chefs make a goddamn fortune with feeding the Ogres due to how hungry they constantly are. When they're not, they always pay up.
  • Defied: Ogres are swiftly driven extinct.
  • Discussed: ???
  • Conversed: ???

Our Ogres Are Hungrier, so try not to look too delicious to them.
