Basic Trope: A dream which changes someone's opinion, often for the better.
- Straight: Alice's neighbours are a pair of Sickening Sweethearts Bob and Claire and their children Dave and Ellie. When Alice is sick of Bob and Claire being all smoochy, she says "I wish Bob had never met Claire!". That night, she has a dream about an alternate reality in which Bob had never met Claire. Bob is in an unhappy Arranged Marriage with Claire's obnoxious sister Freda, Claire has a happy enough life, but she's lonely because she wants kids, and Dave and Ellie don't exist and Bob and Freda have instead had a son named Gary who's as obnoxious as his mother. When Alice wakes up, she apologises for wishing Bob and Claire had never met because "They may be all soppy together but at least they're happy".

- Parodied: Alice hates pistachio ice cream and goes to bed wishing it didn't exist. She dreams that somehow the world would be dystopian all because pistachio ice cream didn't exist so she wakes up liking it after all.

- Zigzagged: After her dream, Alice goes "Well, they should be together, it's best for everyone...but they're still kinda annoying the way they go all kissy...but if they'd never met, then Claire would be lonely and Bob would be married to Freda...but Claire could always find another husband or adopt a child and Bob could always divorce Freda...but then Dave and Ellie wouldn't exist so they're better off together."
