Basic Trope: None of the main cast will ever be Killed Off for Real, no matter how many times they face supposedly life-threatening danger.

  • Straight: The Five-Man Band faces off Omnicidal Maniac Emperor Evulz, and the latter is armed with several dangerous weapons. After a difficult fight, the entire main cast has managed to survive regardless of defeat or victory.
  • Exaggerated: Emperor Evulz is equipped with one thousand assault rifles, a dozen of nuclear weapons, high-energy laser beams at every corner and a pet Doberman while the team of heroes only have a rubber ducky. Nonetheless, not only they're alive after the fight, but they also come out of it unscathed, and the fight itself ended up a Curb-Stomp Battle in their advantage!
  • Downplayed: One of the heroes actually dies in a fight against Emperor Evulz, but they're revived shortly after.
  • Justified:
    • All the heroes are immortal.
    • They're all Born Lucky.
    • It's a team of superheroes, and their super powers offer them a much more increased resistance to harm, among other things.
    • Despite the danger showed by Evulz's plethora of weapons, he can't use them all at once, distracting him a lot from the heroes attacking him from every corner.
    • Emperor Evulz is a Technical Pacifist, who has no problem with beating the heroes up but will stop short of killing them.
    • The writer behind the story basically just doesn't like killing characters.
  • Inverted:
  • Subverted: Shortly after Evulz is defeated, one of the heroes suddenly keels over, dropping dead on the floor.
  • Double Subverted: They're revived later on with the help of a White Mage.
  • Parodied: Evulz sends a dozen of explosives and lethal projectiles of any kind against the heroes, but it bounces off them as the main cast quietly sips tea in the meantime.
  • Zig Zagged: The first batch of life-threatening fights end up with the main cast barely making it out, but they're still alive. Then, after a few fights, one of the heroes dies. But they're revived later by a White Mage. Only for another member of the band to be killed in the next fight, etc, etc.
  • Averted: Anyone Can Die
  • Enforced:
    • Plot Armor
    • It's a kids' show, and the writers have deemed the topic of death to still be too sensitive for their audience to grasp.
  • Lampshaded: "Despite all the hardships we've gone through, we're still alive, and standing on these grounds."
Emperor Evulz: "WHAT?! THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE! LITERALLY NO ONE COULD SURVIVE THAT!"
  • Invoked: The main cast is put under the influence of a spell that grants them immunity to all of Evulz's weapons.
  • Exploited: Genre Savvy Bob of the Five-Man Band proceeds to beat up Evulz in the most embarrassing ways possible, the hero knowing he'll never die whatsoever.
  • Defied: In the same vein, a Genre Savvy Emperor Evulz quickly makes notice of the heroes' status and develops a weapon that will bypass their virtual immortality.
  • Discussed: "What? Me, dying in that fight? Ha! Watch as the higher forces protect me in any and all threatening situations!"
  • Conversed: "How are they still standing!? Any normal human being would have died in that kind of battle!"
  • Deconstructed: Their uncanny resistance to life-threatening danger has the world around them treat them as inhuman outcasts.
  • Reconstructed: Nobody in the main cast cares about what the world thinks of them; so long they vanquish evil and rescue people.
