Basic Trope: In a work about survival, drinking is absent.
- Played Straight: In Bob: The Game, Bob has a food metre, stamina metre, and even an oxygen metre, but he doesn't have a thirst metre, and is never seen drinking anything in both the cutscenes and gameplay.
- Downplayed: Bob does drink in cutscenes but not in gameplay.
- Justified:
- Bob is an anthropomorphic camel or any other animal that can go a while without drinking, or get water from the food he eats.
- Bob is a robot and so doesn't need any liquid like (but fuel on the other hand...)
- Inverted: While there is a thirst metre in Bob: The Game, Bob doesn't have to eat to keep his stamina up.
