Basic Trope: A show where there is no sexuality or romance.

  • Straight: In The Alice and Bob Show, there is no sex or romance.
  • Exaggerated:
    • There are no married couples, no pregnancies, and there aren't even so much as friendly hugging/kissing/Holding Hands.
    • Not only there is no sex or romance in the show, but all kinds of affection are treated as rape and perpetually shameful.
  • Downplayed:
    • In the show, characters do fall in love, but only fall in love with The Ghost.
    • Two minor toddler characters fall in love.
    • There is no romance arc, and two of the characters have already began their relationship before the story stats.
    • No one starts relationships nor has sex, but it's heavily implied that everyone in the cast masturbates on a regular basis.
    • There is occasionally romance subplot in the show, but it never goes further than Holding Hands, smiling, and praising each other's personalities and skills.
    • There are a few background Chastity Couples in the show.
    • The Ambiguously Gay G-rated affection exists, but the characters and Word of God treat it as a very close friendship, while the heterosexual romance and affection are completely absented.
    • The characters do hug one another sometimes, but it's strictly platonic.
  • Justified:
  • Inverted:
  • Subverted:
  • Double Subverted: But the sex was All Just a Dream, or not actually sex, or they break up, and then there is no romance.
    • Alternatively, the off-screen sexual act causes them to go Out with a Bang, and other characters remain virgins.
  • Parodied: Nobody knows what romance is!
  • Zig Zagged: The show has no sexuality or romance in Season One, but Season Two has both, Season Three has lots of romance but no sexuality, Season Four has very small amounts of romance, and Season Five has no sexuality or romance whatsoever.
  • Averted: There is romance/sexuality on the show.
  • Enforced:
    • It's a kids' show, and seeing as they don't know where "inappropriate" starts, they decide to scrap romance entirely.
    • Alternatively, the Moral Guardians won't let the creators add "inappropriate" behaviors in the show.
    • The author is simply sick of romance.
    • The author REALLY likes the idea of the Power of Friendship prevailing. So he makes the main character either asexual or platonically love everyone.
    • The author is afraid of of Ship-to-Ship Combat and Ship Sinking of the fandom, so he avoids creating the Official Couple as soon as possible.
  • Lampshaded: "We never seem interested in romance."
  • Invoked: The Not-So-Harmless Villain removes all the romantic feelings and libidos of the characters, or turns them all into children.
  • Exploited: Seeing as nobody else falls in love, when Alice and Bob fall in love, they don't need to worry about anyone else getting involved with Alice or Bob.
  • Defied: All the characters try to be lusty.
  • Discussed: "Have you noticed we don't seem to ever fall in love or think dirty thoughts?" "Why would we want to fall in love or think dirty thoughts?" "I don't know, but I've heard some people out there do."
  • Conversed: "Why do these characters have no romance?"
  • Implied: Nobody is seen doing or talking about anything sexual/romantic.
  • Deconstructed: Since there is no romance, nobody wants sex, and therefore they don't have babies.
  • Reconstructed: There is only one point in everybody's life when they want sex, and it is only then that they have kids, or they only have sex to have kids.
  • Played for Drama: Alice is the only person who can fall in love and she's in love with Bob.
