- Seth was on a quest to avenge Janice, who was killed by Reese, but after killing him, he realizes that revenge left him unsatisfied.
- Seth was planning suicide, but decided to pull a Taking You with Me for whatever grudge he may have.
- Seth was a hit man hired by someone who wants to remain unknown. By killing himself, he reduces the chances of Reese's murder being traced back to the guy who wanted him dead.
- Seth killed Reese in a fit of rage. After coming back to his senses and seeing what he has done, he kills himself out of guilt.
- Inverted:
- Seth, a skeletal necromancer, revives Reese, and then revives himself.
- Seth, being very badly wounded, gets over his injuries and pulls himself and Reese, his comrade who was barely alive as well, to safety.
