Basic Trope: Monsters you can collect and fight with.

  • Straight: In a world of Tropemons, everyone uses Tropemons to fight, collect, research and do anything for work. When children reach the age of 12, they officially acquire their Tropemon Trainer License to fight in the Tropemon Coalition.
  • Exaggerated: People use Tropemons for everything, to the point of being unable to function without them.
  • Downplayed: Tropemons exist but people just simply go on with their normal lives as usual.
  • Justified:
    • Tropemons have been discovered to have supernatural and superhuman powers by people.
    • People who don't collect and train tropemons are subject to institutionalized discrimination.
    • Tropemons are bred, or genetically engineered, to find fulfillment in serving people.
  • Inverted: Tropemons collect humans and use them to fight with.
  • Subverted:
    • Bob tries to collect Tropemons. The Tropemons just eat him.
    • The Tropemons see themselves as the ones who are really in charge, and put up with being commanded because they view and treat their putative trainers/owners as pampered pets.
  • Parodied: Society is obsessed with collecting Tropemons to the point of having the education system built around the concept.
  • Zig Zagged: ???
  • Averted: There are no Tropemons in this world, just normal animals.
  • Enforced: "We want to sell and appeal to kids for the merchandise!"
  • Invoked: ???
  • Exploited: People decide on using Tropemons to do everything they want to do such and corporations decide on making products manufactured and processed from Tropemons.
  • Defied: Tropemons absolutely refuse to be collected.
  • Discussed: ???
  • Conversed: ???
  • Deconstructed:
    • Because they are focused on collecting on Tropemons, multiple people begin to view the Tropemons as collectibles rather than living beings, abusing Tropemons to their own ends; it end up causing Tropemons to start a rebellion and revolution to kill their own masters, while animal rights groups, fundamentalists and other groups protest and condemn life based on Tropemons.
  • Reconstructed: Tropemons naturally find fulfillment in serving people, and their relationship with people is explicitly symbiotic.
  • Played For Laughs: Tropemons include ridiculous things such an inanimate shoe.
  • Played For Drama: There are those who use the power of Tropemons for evil and domination, forcing the more virtuous to use their Tropemons to stop them.
