Basic Trope: A giant robot(typically a humanoid one or a Super Robot), controls a weapon(usually another robot) larger than it is.

  • Straight:
    • The Fighter Kaiser, a giant robot, can dock with the Lord Kaiser, an even bigger robot.
    • The prototype of the Nigredo Fighting Machines, Trope Sigma can merge with other mechs.
  • Exaggerated:
    • The Heaven Kaiser is a robot which is tall enough to tower over the Fighter Kaiser, allowing an entire fleet of mechs to enter it. A modified version of it, the Angel Driver, is four times the size of an warship.
    • Titan Cosmos is driven by Titan Galaxy, which is driven by Titan Solar, et cetera, et cetera, with at least a half-dozen robots, each piloting the next size up.
  • Downplayed:
    • The Lord Kaiser is simply an armored weapons platform for the Fighter Kaiser's use.
    • The Sacred Galaxy is a modfied copy of the Trope Sigma.
  • Justified:
    • The Fighter Kaiser needs additional weaponry to deal with mechas (or monsters) much more powerful than it is.
    • At first, Trope Sigma isn't powerful enough to fight Claire and Mitsy's newest mecha, the Trope Monarch Γ. Thus, Alice's best friend Beck creates the Sacred Arms, fron Claire's previous mech, the Black Troperia, allowing her to engage the Monarch Duchess.
  • Parodied:
    • The Sacred Arms was built to look like Alice. Its upgraded form, the Nigredo Weapon System, resembles Alice's mother, Cassandra.
    • Both Lord Kaiser and Heaven Kaiser were built to look like Fighter Kaiser's pilot. Bob.
  • Played for Laughs: When the Trope Sigma attempts to combine with the Sacred Arms, the mech humorously damages the vehicle in a somewhat suggestive manner.
  • Played for Drama:
  • Deconstructed:
    • During the climax of the story, Claire steals the Sacred Arms and fuses with it, the remains of the Trope Monarch and the Black Troperia, creating the Queen Goddess, a massive, biomechanical monstrosity.
    • The Sacred Galaxy was built from the remnants of the Black Troperia. Not only does it retain some of the code from its predecessor, but when Alice,(who was forced to fight Claire her entire life)realizes this, she promptly descends into madness, causing the remaining code to take control of Trope Sigma and try and merge with her.
    • The Lord Kaiser uses a absorption system to dock with Fighter Kaiser. This can also cause the machine to fuse with the pilot, with the chance of permanently becoming part of it.
  • Reconstructed: After her breakdown, Alice (now psychologically and emotionally damaged), despite being merged with the Trope Sigma enters a murderous, violent state of anger, and resolves to kill Claire for all the pain she's had to suffer. Her wrath causes the robot to overwrite the data from the Black Troperia and insert its own, effectively "rebirthing" itself into a new, more powerful form (in a jarring and guttural, yet highly-stylized manner), the Trope Star Seraph. When this version of the Trope Sigma docks with the newly-built Celestial Breaker, it forcibly wipes the Black Troperia's data, creating the Star Epsilon.
