Basic Trope Description: A heroic character in a saviour role. The salvation quest includes a sizable, undeserved sacrifice (often lethal) for them. Made in the likeness of Jesus of Nazareth.
- Straight: Bob has the quest to save the Hat People. For the success of that quest, he has to die a Cruel and Unusual Death and is Barred from the Afterlife afterwards.
- Exaggerated: Bob has the quest to save the whole universe. For the success of that quest, he has to be maimed, betrayed by one of his True Companions, die a Cruel and Unusual Death several times and is Barred from the Afterlife afterwards. He was also born in a nativity-story-like way on Christmas morning by a poor young woman who is A Saint Named Mary and didn't know who his father was in a barn far away from her home, Looks Like Jesus, has twelve True Companions, and his Cruel and Unusual Death happens on Good Friday.
- Downplayed: Bob has the quest to save Alice. For the success of the quest, he has to allow himself to get terribly maimed and suffer a near-death experience.
- Justified:
- Bob is Jesus' coming into his world.
- Bob is the Second Coming of Christ.
- Inverted: Satanic Archetype
- Subverted: Bob has the quest to save the Hat People. He thinks that he will have to die so they can live in the end, only to be offered a way out before his death.
- Double Subverted: Nevertheless, Bob doesn't take the way out, and accepts his fate.
- Enforced:
- The author wants to make clear that Bob is the hero.

- Invoked: Bob's mother raises him into becoming a devout Christian. As an adult, Bob deliberately wants to be like Jesus in his heroic quest.
- Exploited: Bob, an Anti-Hero, uses his reputation to be like Jesus to gather a cult following around himself.
- Defied: Bob decides from the beginning that he won't end up sacrificing himself for the Hat People.
- Lampshaded: "Hey! Your life just goes on like that of Jesus!"
- Discussed: "People tell me that I remind them of Jesus." "Wow, that is a praise!" "It's rather annoying..."
- Conversed: "Now he discovered his ability to heal blindness. I bet they will crucify him at the end of the season."
- Deconstructed: A life based on sacrifice and death is pretty depressing, and Bob in fact dreads that. Being an All-Loving Hero is also rather a pressure, and he genuinely fears mistakes.
- Reconstructed: One of Bob's powers is Incorruptible Pure Pureness.
- Played for Laughs: Bob lives in 1st century Galilee. People frequently mistake him for the famous traveling rabbi Jesus of Nazareth.
- Played for Drama: Bob is hunted by Inspector Javert and finally betrayed by one of his True Companions. Then, he is executed for something that wasn't even a crime.
- Implied: After Bob's death, he is frequently compared to Jesus.
