Basic Trope: A robot wishes to kill people.

  • Straight: Bob-Bot 3000 wishes to kill all humans.
  • Exaggerated: Bob-Bot 3000 wishes to kill all creatures on Earth.
  • Downplayed: Bob-Bot 3000 only wants to kill a few select people.
  • Justified:
  • Inverted:
    • Everyone wants to kill Bob-Bot 3000.
    • Bob-Bot 3000 loves humans.
  • Subverted:
    • Bob-Bot 3000 looks as if he's meant to kill all humans, but in reality is peaceful.
    • "For the 1000th time, 'killer' as in 'killer app'!"
  • Double Subverted: Until an event pushes him over the Despair Event Horizon and he ends up on a mission to kill all humans.
  • Parodied: Bob-Bot 3000 announces that he is going to exterminate all... ants, and then pulls out a magnifying glass and burns them using the sun's rays, all while with an evil smile.
  • Zig Zagged: Bob-Bot 3000 wants to kill all humans, but then is convinced not to by the heroes. Then the villain shows up and makes him kill humans, but then the heroes convince him again not to, and so on.
  • Averted: Bob-Bot 3000 is a peaceful robot with no intent to kill anyone.
  • Enforced: The writers want the heroes to face a unique, mechanical and cool threat.
  • Lampshaded: "Wow, an evil robot that wants humans dead... how original."
  • Invoked: The heroes want an enemy to fight, so they program a robot to have this mentality.
  • Exploited: The villain creates Bob-Bot 3000 so that he can kill his targets without any hesitation.
  • Defied: Bob-Bot 3000 decides to not kill anyone after seeing how wonderful humanity can be.
  • Discussed: "A killer robot... guess we'll just have to cut off its power supply. It's always the solution in these types of scenarios."
  • Conversed: "Imagine how cool it would be if we fought a killer robot! Robots are so cool~!"
  • Implied: Bob-Bot 3000 is implied to be this, but he is never seen fighting or killing.
