Basic Trope: A character gets an itch they either simply cannot scratch, or will run into problems if they do.
- Straight: Alice is captured by Emperor Evulz, and is Bound and Gagged. Her leg starts itching horribly, to her chagrin.
- Exaggerated: Alice's whole body starts itching horribly, to the point that her whole body is shaking, and she is begging Evulz to give her relief...but he can't hear it because she's gagged.
- Downplayed: Alice gets an itch, but (awkwardly) manages to relieve it.
- Justified: Well...she doesn't really have any arms at her disposal.
- Inverted: As soon as Alice is captured, she stops itching.
- Subverted: The itch is in a place where she can easily scratch it, even without limbs.
- Double Subverted: Evulz restrains her in a different way so that she cannot do this, just to make her suffer.
- Parodied:
- Alice gets an itch on her boob, and wants Evulz to scratch it. Hilarity Ensues as Evulz not only obliges, but goes through many hardships to not look like a creep.
- Alice is wearing a swimsuit or something on stage when she gets itchy. She strips nude to scratch it.
- Zig-Zagged: Alice repeatedly gets itches all over her body one after another, but she relieves them until she gets one that she can't reach.
- Averted: Alice does not develop a horrible itch.
- Enforced:
- Lampshaded:"It would be really nice if my arms were free...Help? Anyone? MY FOOT ITCHES LIKE MAD!!"
- Invoked: Evulz sprinkles itching powder all over Alice.
- Exploited:
- Alice tries really damn hard to itch said area... and actually breaks free.
- By having his flunky Dennis offer to scratch the itch for her, Evulz gradually convinces Alice to volunteer what she knows to the boy and through him to them.
- Defied: Evulz finds a way to confine Alice without restraining her arms.
- Discussed:
- Conversed:
- Deconstructed: The itch drives Alice bonkers, and she struggles immensely. This causes Evulz to think she is trying to escape, and he beats her until she stops struggling.
- Reconstructed: The ensuing beatdown actually quelled Alice's horrible itch.
