- Exaggerated: Alice is trained in the art of throat attacks, and her every attack, melee to ranged, is aimed at the target's throat.
- Downplayed: Alice just knocks Bob out with a punch to the throat.
- Justified:
- Bob won't shut up.
- Alice is angry at Bob.
- Alice is a lethal assassin.
- This is a real vulnerable point.
- Bob has a Compelling Voice superpower and his throat needs to be destroyed to neutralize the threat.
- Inverted: Alice chooses not to take a shot because it might hit Bob's throat.
- Subverted: Alice aims and shoots her guns to Bob's throat, only to miss and hit the side of his neck instead.
- Double Subverted: Alice's next shot hits Bob's throat for good.
- Averted: Alice doesn't shoot Bob's throat.
- Defied:
- Alice would rather shoot Bob in anywhere but the throat.
- Bob wears thick neck armor to prevent this from ever happening.
