- Averted: Madison's appearance perfectly fits what she's been through.

- Lampshaded: "You're an explorer? What do you even explore, the perfume aisle?"
- Invoked: Madison does make an effort to shower daily and have some clean clothes ready at all times, so she can always look fresh.
- Exploited: The bad guys are trying to capture for someone who looks like they've been in hiding for two years without the luxuries of human society. Madison looks much too clean for that, and she uses this to her advantage.
- Conversed: "Who knew an explorer runaway would have such a high makeup budget?"
