Basic Trope: Cannibalism.

  • Straight: Alice catches Bob eating Charley.
  • Exaggerated: Literally the only thing Bob eats is human flesh.
  • Downplayed:
    • Bob just really likes human-shaped candies.
    • Bob finds cannibalism fascinating, but doesn't perform it himself.
  • Justified:
    • Bob lives in a Crapsack World, and food is really scarce, so Bob can't settle for just actual food.
    • Bob wanted to dispose a corpse after a murder. Turning the corpse into a food to eat worked.
  • Inverted: Bob is apparently really tasty and has to avoid everyone else trying to eat him.
  • Subverted: Bob is seen eating what appears to be a human, in which he reveals is a statue made out of bread.
  • Double Subverted: "...And I'm eating it because Charley's in there, and I want to eat him."
  • Parodied: Bob is in a vore comic that Alice somehow traveled to.
  • Zig-Zagged: Bob eats multiple human statues made out of bread. Some have actual human meat inside, and others do not.
  • Averted: Bob does not eat humans.
  • Enforced: "We need to show the audience that Bob is a Complete Monster, so how about we demonstrate his evil by having him eat another human being?"
  • Lampshaded: "You eat humans!? That's Sick and Wrong!"
  • Invoked: Evulz strands Alice, Bob, and Charlie on an island without any food.
  • Exploited: Alice knows Bob is a cannibal, so she decides to strap a bomb onto herself and requests Bob to eat her. He does, and then... Kaboom.
  • Defied: Bob seeks help to fix his desire to eat human flesh.
  • Discussed: "Be careful when you meet Bob; he's might have us... for lunch."
  • Conversed:
"So, here's that horror technique where people eat... PEOPLE!?"
  • Implied: Bob was with an exploring party that disappeared a long time ago, in a region that doesn't offer much in terms of food. Bob had to survive somehow...
  • Deconstructed: Bob winds up with a prion, which devolves into Kuru. His mental health and motor skills take a turn for the worse and eventually dies.
  • Reconstructed: Bob has magical powers which make him immune to the prion.
  • Played For Laughs: Bob grows increasingly annoyed with Charley's rambling, so he eats him to get him to shut up.
  • Played For Drama: Bob has spent months torturing Charley. He eventually decided the fun of it has gone away, so he decides to end it by devouring him in the most brutal way possible, which Alice and Emperor Evulz cringe at.
