- Some people have the tendency to forget what species Archer is, so he's trying to remind them.
- Archer is very proud of his species.
- Archer's species is genuinely hard to tell apart from humans at a glance, so he prefers to outright state his species soon after meeting people to manage their expectations of him. The cast also happens to rotate a lot so he needs to tell a lot of people on-screen.
- Archer looks like an ordinary housecat, while evolving completely separate, as proven by fossil records and genetic sequencing. People mistaking him for a a normal cat or someone's familiar is a historically backed Berserk Button.
