Basic Trope Description: A beautiful, well-styled female singer who entertains troops.

  • Straight: Alice is a beautiful young woman with a just as Beautiful Singing Voice who entertains the troops of Troperia who are off fighting in a war with her songs at the front lines.
  • Exaggerated:
    • Alice leads a whole choir of women like her that sings for soldiers at the front lines.
    • Alice not just sings, but also dances and does acrobatics, stand-up comedy and stripping for the troops' entertainment.
  • Downplayed: Alice is a female, average-looking soldier who anyway sings for her comrades to entertain them a little.
  • Justified:
    • Alice is popular with the soldiers. For both her looks and her music.
    • The Colonel wants to give his troops a morale boost.
  • Gender-Inverted: Bob is a handsome tenor who sings for the troops at the front lines.
  • Inverted: The troops of Troperia sing for the professional singer Alice.
  • Subverted: We see Alice singing for the troops of Troperia, but it is in fact Charlie in a drag costume concepted to look like her, who had to perform this as a result of a wager with a friend.
  • Double Subverted: This makes Charlie decide to become a singer for real, and is also an LGBT Reveal - he comes back as the trans woman Chantal.
  • Enforced:
    • Rule of Sexy
    • Everyone loves music, and the author wants to give the characters some respite from the war.
    • Alice shall be introduced as a new Love Interest for one or several of the characters.
  • Averted: Nobody sings at the front lines in the show.
  • Zigzagged: Sometimes, Alice entertains the troops with her singing, but is also a soldier in combat and works sometimes at the rear. While she loves to sing for others, she also likes being the one sung to.
  • Parodied: Alice is a Dreadful Musician, and everyone just wants to send her back home. But she is the Colonel's daughter, so everyone has to stay and listen or - toilet scrubbing duty today!
  • Invoked: Alice is searching for her boyfriend in the military and offers her services as a singer for the Christmas Party to get close to the soldiers.

    • "No civilians!" is undisputed policy at the front lines - that means, we also don't invite singers to sing for us.
    • Alice goes to sing for the troops at the front lines, but ends up stuck in her own hometown due to severe bombings.
  • Lampshaded: "Here she comes: Alice, our glamorous special guest!"
  • Discussed: "What a voice. I could listen to her forever." "And she is beautiful. What a woman."
  • Conversed: "Well, this makes the party perfect. Some music is always a good idea."
  • Deconstructed:
    • Alice has to go into dangerous war zones for her performances and is under the same danger as any soldier, leaving her just as traumatized as many of them.
    • Since this is an all-male army, the soldiers haven't seen women for a long time. Alice falls victim to sexual harassment and even rape by the sexually-frustrated men.
  • Reconstructed: Alice is well-protected and doesn't have to perform in the midst of the war zone.
