Basic Trope: Somebody says an obscure word or name and another person replies, "Gesundheit" or "Bless you" as though the first person sneezed.
- Straight: Alice and Bob are trying to solve a mystery. When Alice figures something out, she shouts, "Eureka!", to which Bob replies, "Gesundheit!"
- Exaggerated:
- Alice says a long, rambling speech full of big words. Whenever she says a big word, Bob says, "Bless you" or "Gesundheit" and when she's finished, he asks if she has allergies.
- Every time someone says anything, a person near them says “Gesundheit” or “Bless you”. If they’re alone, they say it to themselves, even if they know they didn’t sneeze.
- Downplayed: ???
- Justified: Bob was joking, or he's a bit slow, or Alice's sneezes do sound like the word "Eureka", or the word said does sound vaguely like a sneeze, or she said it in a weird way.
- Inverted: Alice sneezes and Bob says, "What's the cause of the issue?".
- Subverted:Alice: "Eureka!"Bob: "Gesundheit!...Just kidding."
- Double Subverted: But when Alice says another obscure word, Bob seriously thinks she sneezed.
- Parodied: Bob says "Gesundheit" in response to Alice saying "Gesundheit".
- Zigzagged: Alice does a speech which has several obscure words. Bob says, "Gesundheit" or "Bless you" to some of them, but not others, and some of the ones which he does are a joke, while some are serious.
- Averted: Bob does not say, "Gesundheit" or "Bless you" unless someone actually has sneezed.
- Enforced: Alice is very smart but Bob is kinda dumb and the writers wanted to make a joke out of that.
- Lampshaded: "I didn't sneeze, Bob!"
- Invoked: ???
- Exploited: ???
- Defied: ???
- Discussed: "I work with this guy. His name is Bob and I like him, he's my friend, but he can be a bit oafish sometimes. Like when I said, 'Eureka' that time, he actually said, 'Gesundheit'."
- Conversed: "How stupid can that character get?! 'Eureka' doesn't sound anything like a sneeze!"
- Implied: Alice is on the phone, talking to Bob. We only hear her side of the conversation, but at one point she says, "Eureka...I didn't sneeze, Bob!"
