Basic Trope: Every last injury regenerates, no matter how severe.

  • Straight: After having his head sliced off, Bob grows it back without a problem.
  • Exaggerated:
    • After being blasted into a few stray atoms in a devastating plasma explosion, getting scattered into the atmosphere in the process, Bob reforms without even the most microscopic scratch by willfully pulling all his molecules together again.
    • Complete Immortality: Bob can literally reform from nothingness.
  • Downplayed: Healing Factor
    • Every individual piece cannot be destroyed but healing isn't possible without the fragments. Being a few inches away attracts them meaning that piecing himself together can be a very slow process.
  • Justified: Bob is a Humanoid Abomination composed of a material that can be continually generated ad libitum and freely manipulated, easily fixing his own molecular structure all the while; you can't slice a being of amorphous darkness and expect any sort of lasting injury, after all.
  • Inverted: Bob receives an arm transplant, but his new arm immediately disintegrates.
  • Subverted:
    • Bob stands for a bit after being decapitated, looking like he's still alive, but he falls over.
    • Bob survives being decapitated... because he had one of the Plot Coupons in his pocket, allowing him to recover. Once the heroes break it, his head falls off again, killing him for good.
  • Double Subverted: He then regenerates while on the ground.
  • Parodied: Bob regenerates after his whole body was blasted to bits, but returns completely nude. However, after noticing that fact he says: "Oh, right! I forgot to reconstruct my pants!" and blows on his thumb to suddenly reassemble his complete outfit out of thin air... Much to Alice's bafflement and chagrin, because she was enjoying the eye candy.
  • Zig Zagged: ???
  • Averted: Bob dies from being decapitated.
  • Enforced: "How can we make this guy more of a threat? We need him to be hard to kill!"
  • Lampshaded: "Rrgh! How?! Your head's right there! Did you have a spare?! Why Won't You Die?!"
  • Invoked: Bob leaves his neck fully open to attack just to show off this ability.
  • Exploited: Emperor Evulz doesn't hold back when interrogating Bob, because it's not like he can kill him by accident.
  • Defied:
  • Discussed: ???
  • Conversed: ???
  • Deconstructed:
    • The regeneration is incomplete, forming a completely new brain that has none of the original Bob's memories. He effectively has to mentally start from scratch as an infant.
    • The regenerated organ has some disease from the dirty environment. Enough of this leaves Bob a vegetable from environmental poisoning.
    • Every bit of Bob cut off from the whole becomes another Bob. He suffers an existential crisis over not knowing which is the real Bob.
  • Reconstructed:
    • Every cell in Bob's body seems to have some kind of Genetic Memory, preventing memory loss.
    • When Bob regenerates, the damage is corrected so whatever part regenerated is made stronger. And he just reconstituted his entire body...
    • Since Bob's powers let him grow back his head, all people need to do is cut it off again and then he's no longer a vegetable.
    • Acting on instinct, Bob's new head eats the old one to regain his memories. His secondary powers prevent the old head from growing a new body as this happens.
    • Every bit of Bob cut off from the whole becomes another Bob. You can't help but feel sorry for Emperor Evulz when an army of Bobs arrives at his fortress.
  • Played For Laughs: Bob's head regenerates, but instead of returning to its original shape, it takes a far goofier appearance.
  • Played For Drama:

Did you know we can reconstruct the link to the main page from a single punctuation mark? Cool, isn't it?!
