Basic Trope: Balls of fire as a projectile.

  • Straight: Dracone breathes fire in the form of football-sized spheres.
  • Exaggerated: Dracone breathes fire in the form of star-sized spheres.
  • Downplayed: Dracone breathes fire in the form of golf ball-sized spheres.
  • Justified: Dracone finds breathing long streams of fire exhausting, and fireballs can still cause plenty of destruction for her purposes.
  • Inverted: Dracone breathes ice in the form of spheres.
  • Subverted: Dracone forms a fireball inside her mouth, but ends up breathing a stream of fire instead.
  • Double Subverted: Later on, Dracone spits out fireballs along with the stream of fire.
  • Zig-Zagged: (Continuing from Double Subverted) Dracone's fireballs are actually short streams of fire, and they only look like spheres because of the angle in which they are seen.
  • Averted: No one in the work can breathe fire at all.
  • Enforced: The writers wanted Hiro to narrowly jump over the fire that Dracone breathes towards him, but, since the streams of fire Dracone had previously used were too large to jump over, they made Dracone be able to shoot smaller fireballs.
  • Lampshaded: "Why do all the dragons I fight breathe perfect spheres of fire at me?"
  • Invoked: Hiro arranges the fight with Dracone to occur in a place filled with inflammable surfaces, goading Dracone to use her fireballs, and not her other elemental attacks, against which Hiro does not have an immunity.
  • Exploited: Hiro dodges the fireballs, allowing them to destroy something behind him he couldn't alone.
  • Defied: Dracone refuses to spit easily dodgeable fireballs at her enemies, and instead uses long streams of fire, which she can easily aim.
