Basic Trope: Fire and/or fire-related things are depicted as red.

  • Straight: There are fire symbols. They are depicted as red.
  • Exaggerated: Every flame is colored red.
  • Downplayed: Flames are in their natural color but there are a few insignia where flames are depicted to be red.
  • Justified: Most of the flames in-universe are strontium flames that are naturally red.
  • Inverted: Fire is predominately cyan-colored.
  • Subverted: The protagonist enters the Fire Temple to find that all the fire as well as the temple itself is cyan!
  • Double Subverted: It turns out that everything actually was red, the leader of the temple just really liked cyan and used illusions to make everything look cyan.
  • Parodied:
  • Zig Zagged: Flames appear in their natural color, but the Fire Mage Clan, the main users of fire magic, wear red wizard robes, and their clan symbol is a red flame. However, the leader of the clan wears blue robes.
  • Averted: The color red is not associated with fire.
  • Enforced: ???
  • Lampshaded: "Why is fire associated with red anyways?"
  • Invoked: ???
  • Exploited: Bob identifies a fire mage by their conspicuously red robes.
  • Defied: ???
  • Discussed: "So, your clan uses red to symbolize fire? I guess flames are a bit red, and embers and hot metal glow reddish, but I why not orange or yellow?"
  • Conversed: "That's probably the fire variant of that enemy. You can tell because it's red."
  • Deconstructed: ???
  • Reconstructed: ???
  • Played for Laughs: ???
  • Played for Drama: ???
