Basic Trope: Fairies that are considered attractive looking.

  • Straight: Alice is a lightly dressed fairy who can easily be considered beautiful.
  • Exaggerated: Alice is an outright skimpy goddess of love, more beautiful than a human could ever be.
  • Downplayed: Alice dresses rather modestly, though she's cute enough to get the attention of some humans.
  • Justified
    • The fairies were based on humanity, thus possessing human beauty.
    • Alice is actually a Succubus who looks like a fairy.
    • The fairies convergently evolved to look human, hence they possess their beauty.
  • Inverted
  • Subverted:
  • Double Subverted:
    • ...Until she finally goes through fairy puberty, her fairy traits becoming clear to see.
    • Alice of The Fair Folk appears sexy, but that's just a Glamour. Her true form is... also attractive, in an attractive way.
  • Parodied: Alice is an attractive fairy, but unfortunately doesn't carry the same opinion towards humans.
  • Zig Zagged: Alice looks like a fairy, but doesn't actually possess any of their traits. She then develops these fairy traits by going through puberty, though she wears more conservative clothing and boyish style. However she's still cute enough, yet...
  • Averted: Fairies either don't exist or possess human standard beauty.
  • Enforced: "We need to provide fanservice for the older audience members, but they would be outraged if we made Alice more girly. I know, let's introduce pretty fairies!"
  • Lampshaded: "Wait, why do you look so sexy? Our species have two entirely different cultures!"
  • Invoked: Alice fashions her clothing after human designs and adapts their beautification systems to a fairy body in order to impress them.
  • Exploited
    • The Fair Folk use their powers to appear like attractive humans in order to manipulate their victims.
    • Emperor Evulz unleashes fairies on more prudish locations so everyone would be distracted trying to resist "wicked intentions" instead of his army.
  • Defied: "Yeah, no, I'm going to wear appropriate clothing so you humans see me as a person."
  • Discussed: "Fairies are pretty cute, but they aren't humans so why are they cute?" "Perhaps you should ask that of humans as well. If humans could develop a culture with beauty ideals then why not fairies?"
  • Conversed: "Why are fairies shown as attractive? They're clearly stated not to be humans, so why do they care?" "Well the fairies could have either realized they're more likely to be respected if they appeal to humanity's standards of cuteness, or they honestly developed a culture that values beauty."
  • Implied: Alice's whimsical personality and inherently magical nature calls into question her actual species, though with no fairies native to the continent nobody is sure what a fairy is.
  • Deconstructed:
    • The massive size difference between fairies and other races means their children would end up belonging nowhere, thus viewing fairies as attractive goes against people's ethical code.
    • Though fairies are beautiful, their actual mentality is completely different which makes trying to charm one nigh impossible.
  • Reconstructed:
    • Though the size difference means any children born will have a difficult life, romance is simply about liking someone and thus fairies can have non physical relationships with the people that find them attractive.
    • Though fairies have a different mentality from other species, they're nonetheless attractive and are able to understand other races enough to deliberately appeal to them.
  • Played For Laughs: Fairies make a big deal about fashion, getting into catfights with humans over clothing far too big for them for starters.
  • Played For Drama: Their physical weakness and attractiveness makes fairies the perfect sex slaves for other races.
  • Implied:
