- Straight: When the characters go ice skating, Alice can't skate and keeps falling over.
- Exaggerated: Alice cannot even stand up for a second on ice.
- Downplayed: Alice falls over, but only a few times.
- Justified:
- Alice is on the ice-rink for the first time in her life and hasn't got used to her skates.
- Alice is just The Klutz in general.
- Inverted: Alice is amazing at ice skating.
- Subverted: Alice starts out a bit awkward but then becomes good at it rather quickly.
- Double Subverted: She seems to get the hang out it, only to crash, and is unable to get back into the rhythm.
- Parodied: Alice seems to be amazing at ice skating.. before she is told she is on ice. Then she falls over.
- Zig Zagged: One time Alice seems to be competent on skates... but as soon as she's Distracted by the Shiny, her skating skills suddenly fade away.
- Averted: Everyone who skates is good or at least decent at it.
- Enforced: "So we got an ice-rink sequence, right? How about a minor comic character who is a rookie skater and spectacularly fails on skates?"
- Lampshaded: "I'm not very good at skating."
- Invoked: Alice decides to not practice ice skating.
- Exploited: The Big Bad has ice around their fortress because The Hero can't skate.
- Defied: Alice takes a course in ice skating from a professional skater
- Discussed: "I'm not sure about skating, Alice told me you can break your leg from it."
- Conversed: "So, none of these characters can skate?"
- Implied: Alice takes a chair along with her skates to the rink.
