Basic Trope: A character who only attacks with one extremity type in combat.
- Straight:
- Bob always attacks with his fists, and only his fists: never using his head or legs.
- Alice is a Kick Chick, and never punches her opponents.
- Exaggerated: Bob always has one hand behind his back while fighting, and only ever punches with his left.
- Downplayed: Bob generally leads and finishes with his hands, but will throw in a knee or headbutt.
- Justified:
- Alice has no arms. Kicking people is her only real recourse.
- Bob knows boxing, while Alice knows Capoeira, both martial arts famous for following this trope.
- Alice is an anthropomorphic kangaroo. and we all know how kangaroos are with kicking.
- Bob fights with his hands because he wants to be able to move while attacking, and if one of his feet is being used for an attack, it limits his mobility, even if just briefly.
- Inverted:
- Bob never attacks with the same limb twice in a row.
- Bob adamantly refuses to fight without a weapon.
- Bob only fights with his left arm and left leg in imitation of his idol Bill "Superfoot" Wallace.
- Subverted: Bob is referred to as a boxer with an obsessive specialisation with his fists… then suddenly kicks Evulz in the groin.
- Double Subverted: …Then he apologises to Evulz, as it was a complete accident form when he was trying to get into position.
- Parodied: Bob doesn’t understand what a kick is, and has his mind blown when he first sees someone perform a “leg-punch.”
- Zig Zagged: Bob does this purely to challenge himself, and changes which extremity he uses each time. One time, he only uses his head.
- Averted: We never see Bob fight in hand to hand combat.
- Enforced: The series is about professional boxing; it would be poor form to show them using anything other than their firsts.
- Lampshaded: “No punching? My stratagem is worthless here!”
- Invoked: Bob is a Top-Heavy Guy, and feels that focusing on his punches at the expense of his legs is the way to go.
- Exploited: Evulz sees that bob is over-reliant on his arms, and so lays into him when those arms are otherwise occupied.
- Defied: Seeing as even boxers have to work their core and footwork to prevail, Bob made sure to make good use of his legs as well.
- Discussed: It’s asked in-show why Bob always prefers to attack with his arms.
- Conversed: The girls are always the kicky ones in these games for some reason.
- Implied: We only see the aftermath of a fight with Bob. His victorious opponent remarks "He's got a good left hook, but he skipped leg day. "
- Deconstructed: Bob's techniques are very obvious due to his inordinate focus on his fists, and his core and legs suffer due to lack of practice. A more balanced opponent finds him easy to outwit and outfight.
- Reconstructed:
- Bob make sure to work out his whole body, but still focuses on the punches because they just feel right.
- Bob recognizes that exclusive fisticuffs makes him more limited and predictable, but takes pride in the fact that he can still match the more varied and less specialized combatants, as well as having a distinct, sophisticated fighting style.
- Played For Laughs: Bob wishes on a genie to have fists on his feet, so he can punch with all his limbs. He didn't think this through...
- Played For Drama: Bob's extremity reliance is a sign on how he relies on Good Old Fisticuffs, and he's snubbed because of it.
