Playing With / Evil Desires Innocence

Go To

  • Straight: An evil character finds themselves fawning over an innocent one, be it sexually or platonically.
  • Exaggerated: A horde of demonic beings is seen fawning with heart-shaped eyes over a group of virginal girls in a convent who have literal halos.
  • Downplayed: A character isn't inherently evil, but recognize their desires for another character, perceived as "innocent", as base and impure, and try to quash those feelings, or at least not be seen acting on them.
  • Justified:
  • Inverted: An evil character is repulsed at the sight of an innocent one, but is allured by a perverted one.
  • Subverted: The "innocent" character is only perceived that way by the evil character because they don't really know them.
  • Double Subverted: Then it turns out the "evil" character is just misunderstood, and the "innocent" character is eager to shed the "innocent" image.
  • Parodied: ???
  • Zig-Zagged: An evil character wants an innocent character for a quality they have, such as Virgin Power, making them a Living MacGuffin, but not out of any sort of attraction otherwise.
  • Averted: The villain meets an innocent character and decides they're simply not their type because their very innocence means they have nothing in common.
  • Enforced: The Writer's Board pitched this idea, thinking that this trope would boost ratings.
  • Lampshaded: "Of course the evil ones always want the innocent."
  • Invoked: ???
  • Exploited: A hero or heroine deliberately poses as a sweet, innocent person to draw in the villain, e.g. a woman posing as a virginal girl to attract the local Lesbian Vampire who's preying on the town.
  • Defied: The villain turns down a Virgin Sacrifice, saying they prefer an "experienced" sacrificial person.
  • Discussed: "Lord Deathmonger always goes for the sweet, innocent type."
  • Conversed: ???
