- Literally every character in the work went to high school together, even the Red Shirt, the Talking Animal, the character who is explicitly stated to be from another planet, and the Team Mom who is much older than Alice or Bob.
- All of the main cast were in the same classes in high school.
- The characters even went to the same college.
- Downplayed:
- Among the large cast, there are only seven high schools represented.
- The central protagonists know each other since childhood.
- Justified:
- The work is set in a small, isolated community with one school.
- The work is set in a high school reunion.
- The college the heroes are in heavily recruited out of the school they went to.
- The local high school is large enough that it could have produced a lot of alums who went on to work together.
- The heroes went to an elite school that funnels out many students into whatever job they have now.
- Inverted: Nobody went to high school together, and in fact didn't even know each other before the events of the work.
- Subverted: It seems like several characters went to high school together, but that turns out to be a case of mistaken identity.
- Double Subverted: But they did go to college together.
- Parodied: The high school in town is called "Our Heroes' High School".
- Zig-Zagged: Alice and Bob attended the same high school and they thought Heather did too, but the ex-classmate they thought was Heather was an Identical Stranger of her. They did go to school with Saburo, but not for as long as they thought, while they only learn later that María was their classmate all along.
- Averted:
- A few characters went to high school together, but nothing excessive.
- None of the characters went to high school, period.
- Enforced: "We're writing this thing on a tight schedule, so let's get introductions out of the way by making everyone old high school pals!"
- Lampshaded: "Wait, you too? It's like a high school reunion!"
